I would settle for something between Voyager and Leader-sized for Trypticon. (Like, hey, Ultras!)

06,Would you settle for a Cyber-verse styled play set new Trypticon toy? that's priced under $34. Maybe Hasbro can squeeze in a bit more joints in the T-rex legs, arms & head that the 1986 toy didn't have.Onslaught Six wrote:I would settle for something between Voyager and Leader-sized for Trypticon. 06,I do like your idea for a regular new toy for Trpticon that is $27 USA Ultra sized. At least this will be in size scale with Energon toy line Ultra sized Scorponok. I suspose since the new mold Ultra sized Trypticon isn't that big in scale,it can get away with only being a T-rex that splits open to reveal city/attack base mode. The designers can always try to give the ultra sized Trypticon new toy decently poseable legs, arms & head. Maybe Hasbro can squeeze in a bit more joints in the T-rex legs, arms & head that the 1986 toy didn't have.
Honestly kids in this era are not going to spend over $125 for a Titan sized Trypticon with a T-rex mode that barely has 6 moving articulated joints. no robot mode. that has a beyond easy transformation that splits down the middle of the T-rex to reveal a City/Attack mode.

If it was the size of the Ark playset from DOTM, or one of those mech suit things they have? Yeah, that'd be cool. I actually really liked the Ark, even if I only got it on clearance.

Metroplex isn't just a straight reissue though, he's completely redesigned. And there's lots they could do with Trypticon. Better articulation in "robot" mode, more features in city mode, and a more distiguished battle mode. Y'know... LIKE EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID FOR METROPLEX! My main point is, let's face it, one year ago, if anyone had suggested that we'd be getting a new Titan classed Metroplex the response would have been "You're on crack". But this year we're getting one. I also don't think they would have introduced the "Titan" class if they weren't planning more toys in that scale. You might be right, maybe they will put other characters first like Omega Supreme or Fortress Maximus first, but they've opened a pretty big door here and I hope they keep it open. So yeah, my prediction is still Trypticon.

In FOC, Trypticon was only in parts and then a starship, so you mean WFC I think. You're not the first person to guess that, but I doubt we'd see Trypticon next year, that's a big expense and it's not going to be as recognizable as Metroplex. Trypticon simply didn't play as big a part in recent media, so unless he's playable in a 3rd game that comes out next year, I think we'll probably see at least 2 years between now and the next Titan Class (assuming Metroplex doesn't tank its sales and kill the class).Shockwave wrote:I predict that next year we'll get FoC Trypticon.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I probably should have clarified that point, I actually meant the WFC version under the FoC banner like what they did for Shockwave, Starscream and Jazz.

Trpticon never had a robot mode in 1986 toy line/media nor in the WFC/FOC game.Shockwave wrote: And there's lots they could do with Trypticon. Better articulation in "robot" mode, more features in city mode, and a more distiguished battle mode.

Not all Transformers have humanoid robot modes, Trypticon's T-Rex form is his "robot" mode.Tigermegatron wrote:Trpticon never had a robot mode in 1986 toy line/media nor in the WFC/FOC game.

No that's his beast mode, not every transformer needs a robot mode, nor is it a requirement.Sparky Prime wrote:Not all Transformers have humanoid robot modes, Trypticon's T-Rex form is his "robot" mode.Tigermegatron wrote:Trpticon never had a robot mode in 1986 toy line/media nor in the WFC/FOC game.
substituting beast modes for robot modes is fan fiction. I go by Hasbro TF toy/media bible, not some fans made up fantasy world

That isn't fan fiction at all. Hasbro didn't use the term "beast mode" in G1, that wasn't introduced until Beast Wars and has carried on since then. But for G1, Trypticon's box only calls him a dinosaur. And some G1 packaging does actually refer to Transformers with beast forms as robots, like for the cassettes. On Ravage and Rumble's packaging it does say "Transforms from cassette to robot and back!", with out referring to Ravage as an animal. So no, technically Trypticons t-rex form is his robot mode because, again, not every Transformer has a humanoid robot mode.Tigermegatron wrote:No that's his beast mode, not every transformer needs a robot mode, nor is it a requirement.
