The irony of the newer Optimus & Megatron toys.

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Well that's how I rate good TF toys. I like them to be as show accurate as possible with out compromising things like articulation.
MORE POOR ENGINERRING IS THE WAY THE HIP JOINTS & LEGS+KNEES+ANKLES ARE DESIGNED THAT MAKE THE ROBOT MODE VERY UN-STABLE IN POSES ON DISPLAY SHELVES/FLOOR.
Never had a problem with that. It is a bit top heavy and with the leg designs it can make it a bit tricky, but it's not that hard to get him to stand and stay there. The only thing I wish they'd done better was the pointless gimmicks in the arms.
Hasbro could have added more black or silver or red to the Supreme sized Cheetor toy. the toy design in both modes was no longer a realistic Cheetor designs. Having the Supreme sized Cheetor toy being 90% yellow looked bad. Hasbro could have broken up that yellow a bit better by having 25% black,25% silver,10% red & 40% yellow.
Why would there be 25% silver on him? Again, Hasbro was going for show accuracy, and there was no silver on the animation models at all. Really, you're the only person I've seen complain about a cheetah being mostly yellow.
MORE IMPORTANTLY THE TM2 SCULPTS IN BOTH MODES WERE HORRIBLE,THEY ALL LOOKED LIKE FRANKESTEIN CYBORGS. I really hated the Twisted & bent/distorted body parts & limbs that the majority of the TM2 toys had. excessive kibble in both modes was another TM2 toy problem. Lastly a huge chunck of the TM2 toys suffered from mis-proportioned body parts & limbs
That was the whole point behind the Transmetal 2 figures, that they be monster-esque twisted looking cyborgs. They weren't that bad of figures though.
I liked the 1996 Deluxe Cheetor toy better because I felt it had two beyond Beautiful sculpted modes,The engineering & poseabilty were also decent.
The original Cheetor figure was a brick in Beast mode though.

I'd have to say TM2 Cheetor is probably my favorite Cheetor. Although I wish Hasbro had given him his spots...

Y'know, I'm gonna kinda side with Deathy on this. Kinda. He's still crazy for hating cheetahs for being yellow, but the BM Cheetor toys were all pure garbage. It was so bad that when I was going through and selling toys back then, I didn't even bother selling the Mega version of him, I took a hammer to it instead.

Favorite Cheetor? I'll TM Cheetor. TM II, I didn't care for it because it's transformation basically just has him stand up. Not much going on there. Version one was ant least an interesting design and had pretty good articulation in bot mode.

The Mega Cheetor was a pain. His legs were extremely unstable. I never extended his feet in robot mode because I couldn't get him to stand that way. Night Slash Cheetor was the best Beast Machines version of the character, but yeah, that's not really saying much.

Oh god no, that toy was a disaster. Dippy sword-deploying gimmick that crippled the arm articulation? Slashing gimmick with ball-joints in the shoulders that loosened up after the first use so the shoulders couldn't hold a pose *and* the gimmick didn't work anymore? Lazy-ass transformation that was the worst of the 'stand up swap heads' style and actually required you to just detach the tail and toss it aside to finish it?

Don't get me wrong, Mega Cheetor's hardly a good toy, but Night Slash Cheetor was miles below that one.

Transmetal Cheetor is best Cheetor.

Mega Cheetor tends to slump at the waist because of how the torso fits over his beast mode's stomach area, it's less show accurate, and his weapon is just his tail. Not to mention he's got the worst legs out of all of the BM Cheetor's and the beast mode head can be hard to slide. I'd take NS Cheetor over the Mega any day, despite the sword gimmick and lazy transformation that figure had.

Aesthetically, though, he was the best BM Cheetor.

Honestly, for the 1996 standards, Regular Cheetor is not that bad. I only had Tigatron, so I can't comment on colours, but even then there's a plethora of choices.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.
