Indeed, Dom is the most anal retentive person I know about media and fiction corresponding to toys. It's very strange.

Especially in regards to G1. G1 Tracks and Wheeljack didn't look like their toys either and I would actually cite that the "Generations/RTS" models are closer than their original G1 toys.

The standard on G1 toys was so low that there is no comparison to modern toys.
What bothers me here is that the only place that two really solid toys have context is relative to one of the worst comics that I have ever read.
Dom
-Fun Publications ruins more toys....

It's a matter of perspective. I think most people just regard the Classics figures as new toys from G1. And since the new toys line about as well as the old toys with the fiction, it should be no problem for someone to sit there watching G1 to consider Generations Wheeljack as a viable toy of that character.

-Hasn't IDW used these models at some point?

IDW has not used "Generations" Wheeljack or RTS Tracks. As far as I know, neither has shown up anywhere aside from the Japanese follow-up to "Invasion".
Warpath has shown up in the "Rodiums v/s Cyclonus" pack-in book as well as IDW ("Robots in Disguise". Sunstreaker and Sideswipe have shown up in the Henkei pack-in comics, Fun Publications and IDW. (Actually, all of the "Classics" and "Universe" toys that came out before the second movie have shown up in at least one Henkei comic. In some cases, they have shown up in multiple Henkei comics that are arguably different time lines.) Kup and Rodimus have shown up in the pack-in.
But, Wheeljack and Tracks? Nope. The only comic to use those character models is the follow-up to this past year's BotCon comic....
Dom
-not that the "Rodimus v/s Cyclonus comic is anything great.....

I'm just saying that G1's character models were inconsistent enough that it would not be unreasonable (or even expected) to just call the Generations molds "G1" and be done with it. If you want to watch/read material featuring them that doesn't suck, go ahead and read any G1 comic fom any era, be it Marvel, DW, IDW, Sunbow cartoon...

Thread update:
The scalper con with ruthless convention owners known as Botcon has updated their site to share info with the commoners. BotCon 2013 in San Diego, California - June 27th to 30th!
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... 0th/26344/
My solid guess is that Hasbro & Takara will reveal less newer TF toy/media product compared to previous years. Hasbro seems to hate TFCC because their ruthless scalpers/owners. Hasbro will most likely reveal the bulk of their newer TF toy/media products at the 2013 February Manhattan toy fair,SDCC 2013 & NYCC 2013.
Those who don't want to pay the scalper inflated TFCC $350+ For the botcon toys/package,will only get a 2 day convention, that barely last 5 hours on Saturday & Barely last 4 hours on Sunday.
Those who are willing to feed the TFCC owners/scalpers wallets by over paying $350+ for botcon convention exclusive toys/package. will get a Five day convention & get in 3 hours earlier on saturday & sunday. then they'll get to attend a awards dinner that TFCC serves them potato chips, soda & yellow cheese sandwiches. At some point during the event Aaraon archer will step on stage with TFCC & everyone will give loud shouts of praise & start singing.

Damn dude, did the fan club rape your puppy or something? I've seriously never seen this level of vitriol for something that someone claims to have little/no interest in.

I just really hate how TFCC allows all the extreme scalping of the club/convention toys. since TFCC puts zero laws/rules in place to defeat scalpers, one can only assume TFCC is in on the scalping/encourages it is probably scalping the items also.

That's ridiculous. I mean, I get the hating scalpers part, but TFCC isn't in on it. They sell their items for a certain price, what happens after that they have no control over. 1) If fans didn't continually pay scalper prices, scalpers wouldn't be able to scalp. 2) TFCC does have limits on how many you can buy at Botcon so the reality is that they do stop it as much as they can. 3) Saying this is like saying that because Toys R Us has an exclusive that they are in on scalping as well, when really that's not the case. Most stores usually have a "1 per customer" limit. Except Walmart. I would have no trouble beleiving this of Walmart. When MP Starscream came out, there was a lady in my area running around to all the Walmarts helping employees to open the cases and buying them all on the spot. I've mostly avoided WM since.
