thoughts on the Beast-era

Ok, but only because you asked for it, though, it sounds like you're admitting AHM was bad fiction. :geek:

While on the subject, this reminds me of a thread at TFW I saw the other day... A poster was asking what Megatron's plot was in AHM. Several appeared to not know the answer. I'd say I was surprised by that, but honestly, I have to say I can see how they could have missed it. It was never made very clear throughout the story (or made a whole lot of sense), with only a very brief description to Starscream near the end. Just another thing that goes to show AHM was poorly written.
I see little point in reading about fiction characters doing fiction things that have no bearing on anything. If a writer can show insight about something else while writing about big robots, then I am more interested.
This is just honestly something I cannot understand about you Dom. I mean you're basically saying here that you don't like fiction in general because it's fictional. You're missing the whole point to reading a fictional piece if your only interest is insights into something else within the story.

If I was even close to as disdainful about my (objectively humble) position as a moderator here, I would have banned you long before now. Instead, I will do what I should have done about a week ago, and just hand this damned thing off to JT.

Sparky, we can pick this up later. (Oh, you....using my request for smart assery against me.)

Woptimus Prime
-doing this from class, just so it goes no further.

EDIT:
It is later.

Technically it was all our faults, but I'd wager on us less so than Synjo. I mean, really, that guy is a bad egg.

(Incidentally, I'm getting massive deja vu--did we flame the hell out of him like, last summer and he left in a huff again then, too?)

The difference is that ya know, as a moderator I should have been more responsible.

Synjo strikes me as the type to leave and never come back....go to a different board for a bit....and then come back.

Ah, either way. Good riddance.

Okay, here is a "Beast Question", (and a desperate attempt by me to not end up hating everything Beast-related), how do you count RiD?

Personally, I count it as part of the Beast Era. Story blurbs and throwaway lines of dialogue linked it pretty clearly to the Beast era. The engineering on the toys was also similar to the Beast Era.

RiD = Car Robot, and that's expressly mentioned as being part of BW Neo's manga universe. That's evidence enough for me!

And yes, there's the similarities in engineering. Plus I just like the idea of Lio Convoy, Big Convoy and Fire Convoy all being on the same level, you know? One of them just happens to be a vehicle rather than an animal.

*Now is tempted to do a BW manga retrospective thread if he can find a scanner*

This. Plus, in order for Gigatron's stupid inflated ego faction name to make sense, there need to be Destrons for them to be Destronger than.

Nah, RID is its own era, tucked in between the Beast Era and AEC. It's not related to anything else.
