As you and I have an understanding when it comes to pron, I feel I must ask how exactly she has a different body type. I honestly never noticed. She didn't have the biggest boobs, did she? Surely that's Kasumi or Tina. And Kokoro was the shortest, as I recall. Was she just skinnier than most? I was never commissioned to do any DoA hentai, so I never bothered doing any "research" into the DoA ladies' bodies beyond casually playing the game when my mate forced me to see how good the guarding system was.

In all seriousness, let us know what you think of it. By the by, from what I've heard Mileena's hidden porn costume is like the ULTIMATE UNLOCKABLE of the game. Hopefully there's some better secrets to find on the way there. =/

I will. I'll play it tonight. As for DOA, I think Gamepro's review said it best: "Finally, a boob breast about breast breast"

I'm not an expert on DOA girls bust size (my favorite gal is Hitomi, who's like, the middle ground of the cast), but for some reason I always thought Helena was the largest. Kokoro appears quite busty as well, but that may be because of her aforementioned shortness, as well as her insistence on wearing suspenders with so many of her costumes. Anyway, LeiFang was the shorter, thinner, leggier one of the girls. Mainly meant to look more 'girlish' I suppose, as opposed to the more supermodel/stripper bodies the other girls sport. Anyway, I find she's one of the easier girls to identify by body alone.

Yeah, but in DOA4 all she's got are qipao! At least in the games before that she had some variety, like that cool sweat/tracksuit. Now she doesn't even put her hair up for some costumes, it's just down all the time. The buns were her *thing*-aru yo!

I was kinda dissatisfied with the costumes in DOA4 in general. They cut Leon's awesome red coat/glasses combo, got rid of the optional hair/hat toggles, and gave Christie that god-awful jacket-and-nothing-else look for her default costume. Seriously, that outfit, along with her ending in that game, are why I completely loathe Christie now. Although most of the DOA4 endings are garbage, with the exception of the ones that actually fit into the story (mainly Helena).

I'm excited for DOA Dimensions to come out, but I'm not excited for the opportunity to relive all the shittier parts of the series. And how many goddamn costumes am I gonna have to unlock?

Ok, so I've had time to purchase and play Mortal Kombat. First, I need to preface this by saying that the thing that attracted me to Mortal Kombat in the first place was the martial arts. I was taking Tae Kwon Do at the time the first one came out and it was the first video game where I saw the characters performing moves that I did on a weekly basis. Obviously I didn't learn to throw fire or ice or do that spinny move that Kano has but the basic moves, the punches and kicks were real. So, having played the newest one. I like it. It actually takes place during the first Mortal Kombat game. It starts off with everyone from all the different games dead and Shoa Khan defeating Rayden. Rayden uses his amulet to send images and a message back in time to his younger self. The message is "He must win". I like how the story mode starts with Johnny Cage acting like a complete ass and thinking the whole thing is staged like a movie. At one point he asks Baraka who his makeup person is. I haven't gone all the way through the story mode yet but bottom line so far I like it. It's interesting and the match ups actually make sense. As for the tear away clothing feature that Prowl mentioned, there's basically two models for each character: the regular one and a "damage" version featuring some ripped clothing as well as injuries. Sure, Jade's pole dance (and it literally is an actual pole dance) sounds sexy but when you she does it covered in blood with cuts and bruises everywhere takes away some of the appeal. Mileena's damage model is slightly less revolting (unless you consider her Baraka mouth). I also want to say that whoever programed the female character models has obviously never seen a real boob. Like ever. With the amount of tearing to the clothing they would be showing some sort of areola at the very least and would possibly be showing full nipple on some of the models but apparently the women of MK have no nipples on their boobs. This is most obvious on Mileena and Kitana's "damage" models. I do like the fighting system on this game since they've done away with the run button and the combo build up system from MK3 and subsequent sequels. There is still a combo system but it feels simpler and easier than other versions. I've also noticed that there seems to be real strategy involved in the fighting. You really have to be able to adapt depending on whether you're using a fighter who's good at close range vs. one that's good at long range and depending on if the opponent you're fighting is a close or long range character. This kinda makes each new fight feel like a puzzle that must be solved to continue. There are some of the old classics that still work like constantly jump kicking Goro and Kintaro (although this is a little tougher vs. Kintaro). I find Shoa Khan pretty easy to defeat since he often stands there taunting you and is vulnerable while he does it. Being as chatty as his makes him easy to defeat with a series of uppercuts and just avoiding his attacks the rest of the time (course, I'm playing this on easy so it might be require better strategy on higher difficulties). All in all, I'd say it's a good game and worth getting, but I should qualify that by saying that I'm partial to the franchise and fairly cool to other games of the genre.

I'm no good at fighters, which is why I don't own MK yet. Although, they're releasing the arcade versions of 1, 2 and 3 as a compilation on XBLA later this year, and I'm pretty sure I'll get that.

The only fighter I'm any decent at is Dragonball: Raging Blast.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I suck pretty fantastically too which is why I only ever play MK on easy. My only real gripe with the game so far is the complete lack of an online mode. Actually, there does appear to be one, but I get the impression that you have pay Midway extra money to unlock it. Which I think is BS, it should just be included in the game (especially since we're already paying xbl for online ability).

No it doesn't, that was my whole point! ;p

I'm glad it's as fun as you remember the original being, but have to question MK being your go-to game for realistic martial arts.

Of course, the games that do portray martial arts relatively accurately (DoA, Virtua Fighter) are almost always held down by balancing issues. If everyone has the same basic fighting style, like in MK, the only balance problems come from their special moves, which is maybe more forgivable.

Well it would if she didn't have cuts and bruises all over her body (this is made worse by the fact that she has three rather nasty cuts on her leg that are very promenent when she finishes sliding down the pole).

Well like I said it was the first one that I ever saw with actual martial arts moves in it with the main differences between characters being the special moves. I seem to recall the others coming out after MK (Street Fighter which was nowhere near realistic, etc...)

Actually, the only other fighting games I've played were Clayfighter and Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals. And Robofighter. That one was pretty cool. I did play Killer Instinct but was generally unimpressed.

Gosh darn it, stop missing my point. =p It won't EVER be sexy, because poledancing victory pose = bloody stupid. Why doesn't Liu Kang have a victory pose where he burns his pants off with fire and shakes his ass? 'cOs hE's a MaN dURr hUrR tHaT wOn'T sElL gAmEs It's a shame, 'cos there's shit like that in games I like, too.

Waaaiiiiit. Are you saying MK had more accurate depictions of real-life martial arts than Street Fighter...? You're a nut. =3

Though I did love the little unlockable video clips "describing" the various fighting styles in Deadly Alliance. "HOO-AH CHOO-AN IS A FOIGHTING STOILE FROM NORTHURN CHOINA... with... um... punches....." And who knew judo focused almost entirely on striking combinations, with only like two throwing techniques??

...As for Killer Instinct, the worst thing about it was that it was British. Makes me feel ashamed! ='[ Also the character designs. Spinal in particular makes me laugh. Where are the Argonauts when you need them?
