On that note, though, has there been any book that IDW hasn't put out in a trade yet (after an appropriate amount of time)?

I *think* the theater-freebie movie-preview comic and the Target-exclusive DVD movie comic never made it into a trade, but they were released together as 'Movie Preview Special' or somesuch, and released to regular comic shops.

No real suprised in that I really liked issue 11.

One question though: Might that be Lugnut on the last page? The plane is a bomber, and Lugnut would be consistent with the themes of loyalty and leadership.

I dunno, it's not like McCarthy to use Animated characters. I'm thinking it's Octane.

Octane makes sense, as he's the only Classics/Universe Decepticon character from that timeframe who's not appeared yet. Dropshot's cameo makes me badly want the toy, despite my apathy to the mould. And it wasn't released here, bah!

I suppose it could be Octane. But, I was thinking Lugnut for thematic reasons.


Why do you want Dropshot all of a sudden? I happened to have one in my trade/customizing pile. And, yes, I fished him out quickly enough. But, why do you really want one all of a sudden? Dropshot could be replaced with pretty much any land-based Decepticon and nothing would change.

Dropshot's at the end of the comic. Earlier in the series, the army had oodles of them, and we were all, "Ha ha, CD Scattorshot repaints," and then one transforms into Dropshot at the end of the issue.

I know what Dropshot does in the comic. But, really, is it worth going crazy to find a toy because of? That just as easily could have been Onslaught, or some other guy. Yeah, I pulled Dropshot back into my collection. But, I would not have gone nuts looking for him.

I actually feel the same way, except Dropshot's been on my Display Table for quite some time now, as I have an inexplicable love for that toy. When I saw him in vehicle mode in the top panel of that page, I was all "Oh neat, they snuck in a Dropshot cameo of sorts", thinking it was just supposed be a regular military vehicle. And then it went and transformed into friggin' Dropshot! This was awesome, not just because I love Dropshot, but also because I totally didn't see it coming, because even with all the Universe designs in AHM, I had it in my head that this didn't really have anything to do with Universe, and thus guys like Dropshot wouldn't be showing up. So eliciting that reaction from me was a good one on the part of the writers. Of course, the very last revelation genuinely surpised me too, so maybe I was just being an easy sell in this case.
