Ask and ye shall receive:
I wish I'd done Megs' line to say something about Dion now, too, but meh.

And, if another character wins, they can be holding that paper.

Who's David Willis?
Shockwave
-Obviously would not be swayed by his endorsement.

Walky, a semi-prominent fan member in the 90s and beyond. Big Hot Shot fan. He draws Shortpacked and also some other lame webcomic about teenagers and aliens and gay shit like that.

David Willis is a notable Transfan and webcomic creator. He also runs the oh so whimsical, (obnoxious), TF wiki with Sipher and a few others.
I will say in his defense that "Shortpacked" has gotten a bit less self-indulgent after that dreadful low-point a couple of years back. He is still considered to be a bit of a twerp though. I totally agree that "It's Walky" is unreadable. I tried to get into it. I really tried.
Dom
-notes that the TF wiki voted for Dinobot.

TFWiki is still 'a Wiki,' others do contribute frequently. Sure, there's elements I dislike about it, but its hugeness and awesome use as a resource 'cannot' be denied.

I agree. I use it myself. But, they take liberties when sticking to/enforcing their own rules for content. They can write snarky entries, if the writer is one of them. But, woe to anyone else who tries to.
Dom
-wonders why we never try to build out own non-arsey resource.

Because we're lazy sods, and the majority of snark articles partially deserve it, I think.

I use the TF wiki quite a bit and since I've never written anything for it, I've never had the man come down on me for being snarky. So... yeah. Shortpacked, on the other hand, looks like a comic strip but I always fail to laugh.

I think that my main problem with the Wiki is, with it's hugeness and usefulness as a resource, it's responsible for bringing a lot of new fans into the fold as it saturates their brains with information. And too much of that information is tainted with Walky's snarky opinionation (that's totally a word). Sure, maybe 'The Beast Within' really does deserve the thrashing it gets, but when the first thing a fan who wants to learn about All Hail Megatron sees when they go to learn about that series is how much the wiigiis on the Wiki hated it, how are they to form a decent opinion on the thing? It goes both ways too. What about that issue Walky *just discovered* with ROTF's Bludgeon's hands breaking? That can't exactly jibe with the gushing description of perfection the toy was given on the Wiki, which I know drove a ton of people to buy the thing, thinking it was perfect. A Wiki is no place for toy reviews. Or toy advertisements, for that matter. And don't even get me started on the horseshit Willis pulled with Drift. That was a new low, even for him, and really only served to make his need to be as counterculture to the fandom as possible even sadder than it already was.
Okay, rant over.
