All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Finally, a sense of progression in this book. Too bad it took them until issue 10 to get here. This should have been more like issue 3. And it's still not without some issues...

...Should've been issue 3.

Are you serious? What else would happen, then? I'm starting to ask just what you were expecting from this series.

When this series first started, I honestly thought it had a TON of potential. They could have taken it in many different directions. Instead we got the 'Bots and 'Cons just sitting around for the majority of it and continuity issues. Even if this had been issue #3, there is a ton of different directions they could have taken the series. So what was I expecting? I was expecting stuff to actually happen throughout this series, not just right at the end.

What "stuff" would you want to have happening? We get use of characters, exploration of an idea and some fight scenes, (often between members of the same faction). I reread early issues, and they flow together really nicely. Aside from Bad-Ass Witwicky, this is a great series. They are even using the Matrix in a way that makes me not want to drop the hobby altogether.

Even Witwicky is *kind of* tolerable. At least until Issue 9, anyway, but I think half of that is the art as much as anything else.

More than the Decepticons being bored and the Autobots being trapped fighting each other for starters...

What use? Megatron stole it from Prime and that was it.

The idea is that Megatron has the Matrix, which is as valuable as a symbol of said powere as it is as a McGuffin. Perhaps it just enhances existing traits in both the leaders and the factions.

If that is the case, then it will be interesting to see where McCarthy is going with this.

Kinda wish they hadn't done this, as it could get confusing.

I see what you mean in terms of branding. The clean-up and reconciling of continuity should have been handled in a "Spotlight" book or some other one-shot.
