There's actually a sizeable contingent of people who like BM. It's just that the haters can be very, very vocal about it.

I s'pose that makes sense, we BM fans don't need to be vocal since we've found our stillpoint. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Count me in as another fan of Beast Machines (just look at my avatar for evidence of that!). It has several flaws, but it's also well thought-out and probably has more depth than the average Transformers series. And the animation still holds up well. It hasn't aged too badly for ten year old CGI.

In fact, for the last few years I've been working on a photocomic sequel to it, posted over on TFW2005. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it if you're interested.

edit: Hey, 500th post!

Anyway, back to hauls (so as not to get TOO far off topic ) got Mixmaster yesterday and spent today transforming him. And I'll review that in the reviews thread. Now I have to track down Demolishor and Rampage. I'm going to try to make a G1-esque movie Devastator out of them.
Keep us posted on this. If nothing else, it should be fun to watch the attempt. (Even thinking about trying such a thing makes me crazy. But, hey....)

BMac was a good show, but too much a product of the moment it was released. I can think of no other part of the franchise that became so dated, so quickly.

For all the Skir-bashing though, it was well written. It delivered on what it promised, and took the idea of a conflict between two opposite idealogical factions to a logical conclusion. Content-wise, I actually did not feel any need for a new TF story after BMac, which is partly why I was so forgiving of RiD's many flaws. (I ignored the show, as I was still happy with the BMac story. The con comics at the time were still readable, and were a nice bonus.)

Oh my haul:
Coller's Romita-homage "All Hail Megatron" #12 variant.

I definately will although back when the first movie came out I said I was going to make a Dispensor figure and I only got so far as molding the face. Which didn't turn out very well. Although I did get my Diaclone Classics Bluestreak done in about 2 weeks. Took it to Botcon this year. Couse, I'll have to wait until I get enough movie Constructicons but...

One of the funniest things about BM and particularly Bob Skir is that he kept pushing the mystical aspect in an attempt to annoy the Fox sensors and every time he pushed it further they kept saying they loved it. So BM was one big attempt to flip the bird to Fox.

Why was he expecting Fox to be upset by it?

Because he kept putting a religious/mystical aspect so heavily in a kids show and he had expected Fox to hate it. I can't remember why but it's on the dvd on the special features. I'll watch it again and get back to ya.

Count me in as another lover of Beast Machines. Beautiful show, the visual aspects of it are spectacular. I can't recall any other TF show that just made me look at the screen and say to myself "My lord, lookit THAT! Amazing."

No hauls for today, just wanted to contribute that. Also, Prowl's right, I love me some Cybertron. Mainly the second half. The first half had it's moments, but the second is almost pure magic all the way through.

Hmmm... Still fiddling with Mixmaster here at work and without any modification at all found myself able to contort him into something very much resembling his G1 Devastator leg form. I'll post pics later, but between him and Long Haul, it looks like I'll just have to create some merge kibble and that'll be it. Long haul also contorted G1 style pretty easily so i'm now on the hunt for the rest to see what I can do with them.

New haul! No new movie constructicons, but I did get movie 1 two pack Blackout/Scorponok. Also got Botcon 2009 Banzai-Tron and the Encore Minibot pack. And Alternators Smokescreen. I like Scorponok in spite of him not actually being a Transformer (sorry, the same mode but standing up doesn't count. I'm looking at YOU Transmetal 2 Cheetor!). Still fiddling with Banzai-Tron.
