And hey look, Spotlight Drift offers an explaination! It's not too much of a stretch to assume that whenever/however they repaired Perceptor, they were unable to replicate the technical specifications or whatever that made him such a 'capable' repairman/scientist. So nyeh.Sparky Prime wrote:We don't know that. All we know is he's "different" and that can practically mean anything.Onslaught Six wrote:Because he 'clearly' no longer has the ability to do so. Ratchet says so--Perceptor is not the same as Perceptor was before. He's changed.
Not too much of a stretch to assume they couldn't fix what made him a capable scientist? Sorry but that explanation makes no sense to me. It's not like being a capable scientist is a switch that can just be turned off, even for a Transformer. Perceptor pretty much is the Transformer embodiment of all scientists. Scientist is his primary function after all. Given all his prior knowledge and experience in the field, nothing short of having his entire memory core completely erased would explain him not being a scientist anymore to me.BWprowl wrote:And hey look, Spotlight Drift offers an explaination! Maybe it did. Would explain why he's suddenly a lot less chatty in AHM, and why he suddenly decided to become a sharpshooter.Sparky Prime wrote:Perceptor pretty much is the Transformer embodiment of all scientists. Yeah....no. I just don't buy it. It looks to me like his skills are intact.BWprowl wrote:Maybe it did. Would explain why he's suddenly a lot less chatty in AHM, and why he suddenly decided to become a sharpshooter.
How do you figure? We haven't seen Perceptor do one BIT of scientist-ing in all of AHM.Sparky Prime wrote:Yeah....no. I just don't buy it. Being a sharpshooter isn't exactly something you learn overnight either.BWprowl wrote:How do you figure? We haven't seen Perceptor do one BIT of scientist-ing in all of AHM.
Why? These are questions that should have been covered in AHM instead of everyone just standing around doing nothing for 9 issues. And at this point, I'm not confident they'll ever adequately answer all the problems in this story.Onslaught Six wrote:Well, just wait for Coda/possibly an upcoming Spotlight/the rest of AHM, then.
