Easy one tonight.

SPAY-C
http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Guardians/Spay-C/spay-c.htm

I recall seeing Spay-C on the show once, but I couldn't tell you much about her. And if I'm not mistaken, it is a "her". (just checked- she is indeed a girl) So really, not much thought going into this one. Spay-C turns into a Nasa orbiter shuttle, and the basic design of those hasn't changed much on the exterior for a long time. Here's a pic of the Nasa Endeavor, their most current orbiter.

Image

I know there's a military space plane under development that looks a lot sleeker than the Nasa shuttle, but from what I've read, it seems built for the express purpose of carrying out military operations. I think for Spay-C she should retain an alt-mode that's about scientific exploration. I did think maybe it'd be cool to give her some transformable armor in the form of satellites or maybe a mini-con type character that turns into a satellite? Hey here's a question; what would the name of her alt-mode be on the side of the shuttle? Let's assume we couldn't get permission to use any of the established shuttle names (Atlantis, Challenger, Columbia, Discovery, Endeavor) and had to come up with something new. What would Spay-C slap on the side of her alt mode?

Moving along we have Turbo and Buggyman. I mentioned these 2 earlier and some suggestions that other people had made for them, but didn't really devote any time to them. So I'm going to do that now.

TURBO
Turbo was a moron. He was the muscle of the main three Guardians with a voice that just screamed, "dumb as bricks." I never liked him and always wanted Crasher to ram him into a wall. I suppose the best that can be said about him is that he was always a good friend to Scooter and Leader-1 and was a competent fighter against the Renegades. Eh, there it is. Don't suppose anyone here likes Turbo?

http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Guardians/Turbo/turbo.htm

Sorrow Six Star of TFW2005 suggested the Toyota FT-86 Concept for Turbo.
Image
I know I complain about the Guardians having so many guys colored red, but Turbo HAS to stay red. And I do love the deep red on this car.

BUGGYMAN

http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Renegades/Bu ... ggyman.htm

A Renegade that apparently likes to go dune hopping. I know he had quite a few appearances on the show, but he never came across as terribly memorable, I guess. Can't really say what his personality was like. Generic bad guy? Probably. Anyway, I know a couple pages back I put up a picture of the 2001 Toyota RSC for Buggyman. It was originally suggested as a possible new mode for SmallFoot, but I thought it looked like it could kind of work for Buggyman instead.

Image

And while that's nice and all, it's not really a dune buggy. I think maybe I've found something better. Something that I'm happier with anyway.

The 2008 Jeep RENEGADE concept
Image

Come on! It's called the Renegade! Can't get much better than that. There's a ton more pics and info about it here:

http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2008 ... egade.html

Just paint it blue like Buggyman and I think we have a winner. It is classified as an off-road vehicle and every article (all 2 of 'em) that I've read keep referring to it as a dune buggy lookalike. So I'm pretty happy with it. What do you think?

I think I'm in love with that concept Renegade is what I think. I could see it being the Buggyman guy. Also, is the name "Buggyman" meant to evoke "Boogeyman"? Because if so, that's awesome.

I effing love Go-Bot names.

LOL! I never thought of the Boogeyman thing. With all the puns among the Gobots, I wouldn't doubt for one second that that is exactly what they were going for. :p

OH! Bad news. I was told this morning that the jet I picked out for Fitor isn't a real jet! It's apparently from the Ace Combat video games by Bandai/Namco. I should've known when they started talking about nueral links to the jet itself. Still... it is a really cool jet. I'm kind of inclined to leave him as is. . . unless someone else finds something that's as suitable and real.

Next up. . . .

PUMPER and DUMPER!
I swear that's a sexual innuendo.

PUMPER
http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Guardians/Pumper/pumper.htm

Ah, it's another Guardian I know nothing about. He's a ladder truck. He *pumps* water. Uh... that's all I got. Anymore when I think of fire trucks, I think of RiD Optimus Prime, the best fire truck ever! But since I'm trying to avoid using any alt-modes that TFs have already gotten to, I won't be using the Japanese Hino Brandlier fire truck. Instead we have here... a... a... a uh... an American fire truck. I found this pic on a fire station's website, but they didn't list any info about it. But I like it :)

Image

DUMPER
http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Guardians/Dumper/dumper.htm

A dump truck. Mm... a Guardian dump truck. I never saw him on the show, so all I got to talk about is his alt-mode. It's a dump truck. A short-nose dump truck. Just this morning I was out driving and I saw this cool looking Kenworth dump truck with a conveyor hooked up to it, just feeding material into the worksite. At least, I think the conveyor was hooked up to the truck. That's how it looked from where I was. I thought it'd be cool if Dumper came with the conveyor attachment and turned it into some kind of canon in robot mode ala' RiD Prime's ladder canon. The Kenworth I saw this morning had 8 axles too, while this pic here only has 4. So it's unfortunately not what I was looking for, but enough to get the idea, I guess. Dang, just feel like I'm striking out on these two guys.

For Dumper, I got to thinking maybe a smaller truck like the Ford F750. I like how those look big and beefy. :p Not every Gobot has to be remade into the biggest, baddest truck out there. Maybe just this once 2 axles are better than 8? I know, crazy, right?

Image

Next up is...

DOZER

And unfortunately there's no entry for him on the TFU page. So I'm relying on that little kid to shed some light on Dozer (and others) again!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFvAlQ9EVyc

Okay, so he's a bulldozer. And he made like... no appearances on the show. Well maybe one or two. So no personality either! Wonderful! Blank slates are fun to work from. I'm thinking his bulldozer alt is just too teeny tiny. Time to bulk him up. He's gonna' bring some muscle to the Guardians. How's this:

The Caterpillar D11T
Image

A little info about this dozer
D11T

The current D11T was introduced in early 2008 and is also 850 hp (630 kW). This comes as a regular bulldozer and a Carrydozer like the previous model. As with the D11R, the D11T Carrydozer can push 57.9 yards (52.9 m) while the regular D11T can push 45 yards (41 m) of earth. A new D11T was on display at the Caterpillar display at Minexpo during the 22 to 24 September 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The primary difference between the D11R and the D11T is the controls inside the operator's cabin. Several levers have been changed into electronic switches, and several controls have been moved for increased visibility. Another difference is that the D11T has its exhaust mufflers moved back closer to the front of the cab like the D10T. They stand taller than the ones on the D11N/D11R.

Next on the list is Small Foot, but we've already covered her. Onto...

FLYTRAP
http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Renegades/Fl ... lytrap.htm

I vaguely remember this Renegade. Mainly I just remember this one episode where some stunt driver was jumping his car over a whole row of garbage trucks, and Flytrap happened to be one of them. Scooter was sitting up in the bleachers watching the show. Yeah, I don't know how the bleachers didn't collapse. Maybe Scooter's just that light. So Flytrap! Another generic bad guy? I think so, but at least this guy has a cool name. Flies like to hang around garbage. His big garbage compactor could be compared to a venus flytrap. It's actually one of the more creative names to come out of Gobots. I like it. For this guy, he still needs the compactor but I think he could do with a pair of front-loader arms too. Makes him look more menacing like a... praying mantis or something.

The 2010 Peterbilt 320 Hybrid

And a ton of info about this truck

SLICKS
http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Renegades/Slicks/slicks.htm

My older sister got Slicks for Christmas one year, and I remember thinking what a cool looking robot he was. Cool name too. On the show... I'm drawing a blank. But whatever. Seems to be the case for a lot of these guys. Renault is still into Formula racing, so I see no reason why we can't just use the most current model F1 racer for Slicks here. Easy one. And still yellow and black!

BLOCKHEAD
http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Renegades/Bl ... ckhead.htm

A Renegade that likes to mix cement. Why are cement trucks always bad guys? Anyway, another throw-away character who I don't remember from the cartoon. I wish there were a picture of this guy from behind. I'd like to know if his big mixing drum is just hanging back there like a giant piece of kibble. I did a little looking and came up with this:

The McNeilus Revolution

Some info about this truck. Apparently it's pretty spiffy in the cement truck world.

Quickmix, Takedown, Mixing, that big orange guy from Transformers - Cybertron... ;p

Did the cartoon ever give the Go-Bots that weren't in the intro particularly distinct personalities? I dug out my Machine Robo 'cos of your thread and am curious what they're meant to be like. But I'm aware they didn't have tech specs like TFs. =[
