Energon cartoon was ok. I liked it, but the only thing that really annoyed me was the Autobots' tendancy to stand around yammering on about what they were about to do for 20 minutes while also recycling the same "You can do it" speech about six times. The comic was pretty good too, I thought.

I just bought two deluxes and three voyagers, if you want donations for twist ties, let me know.

And, it is an incomplete story owing to Pat Lee embezzling money. Good work Prowl.

Dom
-would actually like to see IDW produce the rest of the series.

My senseless love of the Energon cartoon is well-documented (I bought the complete DVD collection the day it came out), and somehow I just don't think the comic series is going to measure up to all the ridiculous things I loved (but shouldn't have) about the cartoon. At the least, Misha and Sally don't appear to be in it. B'aaaaawwww...

Yeah, I bought the DVDs too. It definately was a good series. Course I actually enjoyed the US version of RID as well. Particularly the battle sequences where everyone screams their attacks at the top of their lungs before they do it. I would have loved to see someone yell "Cross-eyed stare!!" with eye-beams coming out and hitting someone.

...are you sure you're not ME?

Seriously, all this time I've been under the impression that I was pretty much the only fan of the Energon cartoon. It's generally hated (with good reason, as I outlined in another thread), but I just can't help but revel in all the retarted, enjoyable things it does.

Nice to meet you Trekkie. Nice to meet you.

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm not you. I better check just to be sure. Ok I'm back and after re-reading the thread where we debated Sunstorm, I'm now 100% sure I'm not you. Of course you realize you've probably met the only other person on the planet that liked Energon. Which kinda makes me wonder, how did you feel about Beast Machines? Or Cybertron and Armada for that matter?

I got some comics. I'll toss thoughts about 'em in the proper thread.

I really liked Beast Machines. It's about equal with BW in my mind. Armada I'm pretty much neutral to, I liked a coupla characters, but the show was more rush-production'd into oblivion than G1 was. Cybertron was a'ight. It started off meh, but as it went on and the dub actors basically started MST3K-ing the whole thing, it became thoroughly enjoyable. Still, if you like that series, you should really talk to Scourge.

:o No freakin' way, seriously? I thought I was the only one who liked BM!! Ok, this is getting weird now... Yeah, I got the rushed feel from Armada after the third episode. In fact, I remember that week well as it was the week when both Star Trek and Transformers both became unwatchable to me. I was watching Armada and Optimus Prime had called Sparkplug Leader-1 and two seconds later the VERY NEXT LINE OF DIALOGUE had Megatron address his mini-con as Leader-1. I gave up trying to count how many levels of editing should have caught that. Then that same week the Borg were on Enterprise. It was all very distressing  . At least Enterpsise had the perfect ending to explain it's unwatchability... Riker walks out of the TNG holodeck, says "End program" and everything disappears. BAM!! Etcha-sketch! Never happened!

I liked what I've seen of Cybertron so far, but I need to finish watching it. I bought the DVDs, but then my birthday rolled around and I had to start watching G1 again (as I do every year on my birthday), a marathon that starts with G1 and doesn't end until I get through everything TF. I'm so behind this year, I'm not even through disc 2 of BW.

Anyway, back to hauls (so as not to get TOO far off topic  ) got Mixmaster yesterday and spent today transforming him. And I'll review that in the reviews thread. Now I have to track down Demolishor and Rampage. I'm going to try to make a G1-esque movie Devastator out of them.
