I'm wondering whether they'll pull a Dreamwave and shift too quickly towards Season Three characters and style. I thoroughly love the G1 S3 feel, but I'd like to see more done with the earlier cast first. Honestly, I hope they turn Thundercracker into Scourge. But not yet.

Nah, can't do that. Scourge already exists--although McCarthy's original idea is impossible, he was still *mentioned* so unless the Scourge who is supposedly already around turns out to be from The Future (and we should totally wait for the Galvatron coda issue to hit to see what that does), that just wouldn't work out.
