if TF prime does combiners they will be based off of old school persona's/designs that are in the TF Prime cartoon/toy house design style.Sparky Prime wrote:While I think that'd be cool, I can't see them doing that in the Prime series. If they ever do introduce a combiner, I get the impression with how the series has been going so far that they're more likely to go with a newer inspiration.Tigermegatron wrote:It's my eventual dream to see all the G-1 USA Hasbro combiners from the 1980's to receive new mold updated homage super poseable molds in the proper size scale.
The Energon combiners only used 3 molds though, repainting two of the limbs to complete the gestalt form instead of 5 individual molds. We've already got a few G-1 combiners with new molds in proper size scales thanks to energon & the movie verse. which are. superion, bruticus, devestator & the ROTF legends sized devestator.
Also, there was another Devastator, repainted from RiD Landfill for the Universe line.
And then there were the Power Core combiners, albeit not based directly on G1 gestalts and the limbs had no robot modes, it it clear some of them were intended as homages.
You haven't heard of "The Beast Within" comic book I take it? I think a lot of fans prefer the Dinobots as they are. Them as a combiner would be... over the top, as that comic goes to show.Dinobots,4 deluxe limbs & one voyager core leader grimlock. I realize grimlock wasn't a g-1 combiner but fans wanted this for decades since 1985.
Creating new designs/new persona's TF Prime combiners just isn't going to happen nor is it very realistic. as Hasbro tries it's best to cater to what the majority of TF fans want. the majority wants all the old school TF combiners to receive updated homage new molds.
