What 2 combiner 5 man team, would you like to see in TF Prime

No noses? No problem! Zombiebots? Sure, why not. A confusing new canon that allows loose and contradictory material? And now a new sequel show with an entirely different art style that takes place way in the future!

While I think that'd be cool, I can't see them doing that in the Prime series. If they ever do introduce a combiner, I get the impression with how the series has been going so far that they're more likely to go with a newer inspiration.
We've already got a few G-1 combiners with new molds in proper size scales thanks to energon & the movie verse. which are. superion, bruticus, devestator & the ROTF legends sized devestator.
The Energon combiners only used 3 molds though, repainting two of the limbs to complete the gestalt form instead of 5 individual molds.
Also, there was another Devastator, repainted from RiD Landfill for the Universe line.

And then there were the Power Core combiners, albeit not based directly on G1 gestalts and the limbs had no robot modes, it it clear some of them were intended as homages.
Dinobots,4 deluxe limbs & one voyager core leader grimlock. I realize grimlock wasn't a g-1 combiner but fans wanted this for decades since 1985.
You haven't heard of "The Beast Within" comic book I take it? I think a lot of fans prefer the Dinobots as they are. Them as a combiner would be... over the top, as that comic goes to show.
if TF prime does combiners they will be based off of old school persona's/designs that are in the TF Prime cartoon/toy house design style.

Creating new designs/new persona's TF Prime combiners just isn't going to happen nor is it very realistic. as Hasbro tries it's best to cater to what the majority of TF fans want. the majority wants all the old school TF combiners to receive updated homage new molds.

I doubt it. Prime has its share of random new shit thrown in for no reason, or strange callbacks to things you wouldn't expect--just look at Airachnid and Skyquake.

I'll guess we'll just play the waiting game & see who's theory is correct. we won't know until we see test shots/proto types. this will most likely happen at Hasbro Toy fair in February 2012 in NYC.

How so? I'd really have to say that none of the characters in Prime so far are based on their old school personalities or designs, instead taking ques from much more recent Transformers franchises...

Bumblebee is clearly inspired by the movies. Ratchet is a bit like his Animated counterpart as the grumpy old timer that rarely fights anymore. Bulkhead of course was originally introduced in Animated. Arcee's personality is original to Prime, and her design as a motorcycle is a recent trend that started with the Energon series. Optimus as a long-nose truck is something G2 and the movies had. Megatron seems like a mix between the movies and Animated versions. Soundwave is nothing like any version we've seen before. Wheeljack's personality I've seen most people compare to Drift and is a rarity in this series to have a design actually based on his G1 counterpart. Airachnid, Knock Out, Breakdown and Skyquake are pretty much brand new characters....

Given the trend the series has established thus far, it's far more likely and realistic that if they ever do make combiners that they will have new personalities/designs.

some of those TF characters you listed are homages based off the original toys/persona's. a homage is not a 100% update. a homage is something that pays tribute to something original but radically alters the design & persona. fact is some of the original ideas from the original toy/persona are still present in the homage toy.

Ofcause if we get G-1 combiners in TF Prime, they'd have revamped designs & different personas. I never said "no" to this. as the original 1980's toys were bricks, were lacking in sculpt & just awful toys. with todays toy technology, hasbro can create new designs that are super poseable, have higher sculpt, more paint apps but kinda have similar alt modes & bot mode designs.

MOST TF fans want TF Prime combiners that are similar in vein to the Energon 5-in-1 combiners.

I don't care about different persona's,as I rate all TF cartoons/movies as pure awful.

I'm in it for the toys & toys alone. as long as I get the following G-1 Combiners in TF Prime's toy line,I'll be a happy camper: (1) Stunticons,4 basic sized racing cars & one deluxe sized truck/bot. (2) 1986 Predacons,4 deluxe jungle animals & one voyager sized lion/bot. (3) seacons,4 sea/bots & one deluxe turtle/bot. (4) terrorcons,4 weird monster/mystical animals & one deluxe hungurr. (5) 5 or 6 basic sized monsters that form monstructor.

For this thread,I simply prefer to take a wait & see approach. we'll all know who's theories/speculation was right or wrong when the TF Prime combiners are revealed in cartoon & toy form. this will most likely happen in 2012 at hasbro february toyfair, botcon, sdcc & so forth. we'll probably also see these thru those factory workers who steal TF toys, then have middlemen who sell them on the internet to fellow TF fans.

The point remains, most of those homages in the Prime series are much more reminiscent of modern versions of the characters, not the original G1 characters. Many of them being nothing like the original G1 characters at all.

no,you just keep,mis-reading all my replies.

I want G-1 HOMAGE combiners in TF Prime that look exactly or extremly similar to the ones done in energon 5-in-1 combiners.

I don't see how I mis-read anything... You'd said combiners with new designs/persona's "just isn't going to happen nor is it very realistic" for the Prime series because Hasbro caters to what the majority of fans want. That was worded as a definitive statement, not what you personally want to see at all. To which I disagreed with, and pointed out how pretty much all of the characters in the Prime series thus far have had new designs/persona's already. And Hasbro doesn't cater to the fans. They will listen to fans input but that's not the same thing as catering to them.

ofcause I said new designs, this is after all what a updated homage new mold toy is.

their is just no way to use the old 1980's design & go into it & add poseability. why? because it'll look like garbage.

I want something similar to the energon 5-in-1 combiners. where we get the G-1 alt modes combiner teams but with different robot/alt mode designs. Example: I'll be happy with 4 basic race cars & one deluxe truck/bot called the stunticons/menasor. I honestly don't care nor need for the bot designs to match the 1985 designs. I don't care if they use different race car designs. motormaster can be a different truck design. I don't care if they use different stunticons team members names like they did for the energon 5 in-1 combiners.

we'll know who was right or wrong with their combiners teams theories when the TF Prime combiners toys eventually get revealed in the cartoon/toy line.

amyways,FWIW,Most are counter-debatting in this thread, that they want newer combiner teams themes in TF Prime. random example: 5 boats that merge to form a gestalt.

FWIW,You seem to be the only one mis-reading my thread/replies.

Because most of us are apathetic enough that we don't even care to debate it.
