New Predaking Reissue!

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!
Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

I like the characters just fine. It's the actual toys I've always been less than impressed with.

Yeah, I'm kinda...I don't know. I like Silverbolt, the contrast of the giant supersonic jet that's afraid of heights? That's awesome. Skydive, the super air-warfare historian? Sort of cool. Slingshot, the complete jerk? Eh, whatever, that's okay and all. The...other guys? Not necessarily against. But for some reason, the group, and the fact that they're a combiner, that's where I just start hating 'em.

And it's funny, because I distinctly remember young me thinking "Crap, is every sub-group gonna combine now? That's stupid" when Superion first showed up. Menasor, I had no problem at all with. I suppose I just think of combiners as working well as an extra obstacle for the Autobots, a way of giving the Decepticons the perpetual upper hand that makes the stories interesting. Look at when Devastator shows up in the 86 movie, everyone's thinking "Ah, crap. We're boned". That scene wouldn't have been nearly as cool if, say, the Protectobots had been around.
