I want Battle Blade Bumblebee and I don't know why.

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Well, Bumblebee was always my favorite Autobot and when I was young I decided that I would drive a yellow VW when I grew up. In 2002, I bought a yellow New Beetle. 2 months before that is when they reissued Bee as a keychain and I've been using it ever since. In the last 8 years I've gone through all 6 of the carded ones I bought and last year bought a pack of 10 on ebay for $40. So I don't know if they really count as part of the "collection" since I plan on using them and discarding them when they get faded/broken/lost what have you.

Every single pic I see of this toy makes me want it more.

I might put that on my "buy it if I run across it during a dry-spell" list. The new head mitigates the fact that I have several earlier pressings of that mould.

Looks like a completely different mold to me (different from the regular deluxe version). It's in my "if I run across it list".

Yeah. And if you've only got the original NewBee, like me, this looks like a substantial upgrade.

Yeah, at first glace they might look very similar, but if you really compare the two versions next to each other, it becomes clear this is actually a completely new mold.

Anyway, I have to say I'm really impressed with this figure. It looks great and I love how they've incorporated a moving battle mask and transforming arm cannon into it. The battle ax is a nice touch to give him a melee weapon. I wasn't planning on getting any more deluxe Bumblebee figures, but I'll certainly make an exception for this figure.

Does he have to be doing a perpetual pelvic thrust, or is that just how they have him posed? Maybe he's peeing on someone...?

I kind of like the more dynamic sculpting, and the chest proportions seem a little more movie accurate. And the mask is a definite win. Not sure about the weapons, though, and the way they over-bulk his forearms. Might just have to wait and see, which these days means "no".
I disappear.

That's the way these guys posed him. His legs can also straighten out (which is good, since Bumblebee is one of the few movie models without digitigrade legs.)

Quoted to preserve 2 historic events.

1) I agree with Sparky.

2) Sparky actually talking about a toy, rather than focusing primarily on lore and comics.

That said, my other BBs are going into the custom/trade furnace.

I largely suspect Hasbro is getting this mould out of the way now so that they won't have to spend a whole lot on updating him for TF3. Very smart business sense, there.

This 'Bee does almost everything we've ever seen the guy do. The only thing missing are those shoulder cannons, and I can't see how they'd incorporate that in a Deluxe toy. This guy really does seem like the feat of engineering that NewBee was supposedly championed as.
