Yeah, I'm pretty jazzed about Straxus myself. He looks aces, love the colors. I saw Brimstone and Hubcap as well. Everyone's mainly losing their shit over Hubcap, and I can understand that, but Brimstone was the one that really caught my eye. I *love* his wicked buzzsaw hands. Thrust I am *ecstatic* about, so glad I never took the couple of chances I had to drop 70+ dollars on that mold. I am *pissed* about the Power Core Combiner five packs, since it would seem to cement the idea that Hasbro's incapable of making anything other than Zord-style combiners these days. Maybe an argument could be made for size and weight and tolerances with Devastator, but when the components of these new things are barely the size of Basics, there is NO excuse for this shit. If none of the other figures tempt me, I may actually boycott this line out of protest and encourage Hasbro to TRY HARDER.

And goddamit, I guess I have to mention Drift. God Dammit. Not only is it irritating that after all the hate this character has gotten, they're *still* going and making a toy of him, but his presence as a White Car means that we're unlikely to see the much-needed Jazz or Wheeljack in the future. Seriously, the lack of Jazz up to this point is as mysterious as the way DC Universe Classics has been dragging their heels making a Martian Manhunter, and with Drift in the picture, it looks like we'll be going Jazzless for even longer. What kills me even more is the knowledge that I'll probably buy him anyway because A) I don't actually hate Drift that much, B) He's a character from All Hail Megatron and I encourage any and all recognition of that series, and C) it might encourage Hasbro to crank out more of the Neo-Wreckers, including Kup. We already got Blaster, Springer, and Roadbuster in Universe, so making more of those guys (hopefully as new molds) would be cool. Also, Drift's toy actually looks kinda nifty. God dammit though.

Oh shit, how come no one has mentioned Human Alliance Jazz yet?

I've never really understood the hate for Drift, unless it's just the "ShAnE McCRthy eatZ BAbiez!!" crowd hating the character because they can't stand McCarthy. I think Drift is quite interesting as a very laid-back, at peace with himself, former Decepticon, and it's great to have a figure for the character. I'm all for making actual figures out of any number of comic-only characters. I'd enjoy seeing Nova Prime, or G2 Jhiaxus turn up in Universe.

Well, between Straxus and Drift, we've got a pretty sizable portion of precedent already.

Yep, that's a good start. I suppose the Titanium version of the Fallen should be included in that list as well.

The answer is ironic given your ranting above--nobody gives a shit about Movie Jazz. Frankly, I'd have preferred Ironhide or Ratchet, since neither of them have got a wholly new-mould toy that doesn't look sucktacular yet. (Deluxe Ironhide and Ratchet look crappy.)

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I actually dig it. And this reminds me, I need to catch up on the line. Haven't even picked up Skids yet... But anyway, seeing the pics of HA Jazz made me kind of sorry he's dead.
I disappear.

I actually really liked Movie Jazz. Well, not his character, since he was just the Black Guy Who Got Jobbed, but I really liked his design, and his original Deluxe toy was one of my favorites, so much that I bought three of it. I can't wait for the HA version.

I admit that Deluxe Ratchet looks crappy, but I'm really liking what we've seen so far of DeluxeHide. May be picking that one up.

I got to say I think HA Jazz is probably one of the coolest looking TF's to be shown this year at Toy Fair. They did a great job on it. Like BWprowl, I really liked the original deluxe figure (and have two versions of it myself), and thought he had a great design. Just too bad they killed him off in the first movie. I would have liked to see more of him.

Also, really glad I waited on getting an MP Grimlock. Importing one costs way too much.

, I couldn't scrape up the cash to fly out and get lodging, and Dom hasn't posted enough news to get recognized to go as a rep of the site.

First off, I want to apologize to everyone here. I do wish I could have gotten us in. Had I posted enough news, I could have gotten in, and we would have had the information directly.

Again, I am sorry.

That being said:

Straxus/Darkmount: Wait and see.

Drift: :D :D :D

Thrust: I will almost certainly buy this. But, I reserve the right to complain about there being no Dirge. And, Hasbro has still failed to release even the primary 3, let along all 6, planes in one consistent and easy to get format. In other words, I am going to have my cake and complain about it too. Prowl already mentioned the saving of money. But, we are also not paying $50+ for a weirdly colored toy that would have shared a display with G1 style colored toys.

HA Jazz: Sign me up. I might also have to get a Barricade. (I am sick of Bumblebee and hate Same. Sideswipe and Epps tempt me. I like Jazz, and am indifferent to Lennox. I hate the twins.) Still, Lennox and/or Epps should have come with Ironhide.

Power Core Combiners: Wow. Here I was fretting about how I was going to afford/justify buying these. That problem is largely solved.

And goddamit, I guess I have to mention Drift. God Dammit. Not only is it irritating that after all the hate this character has gotten, they're *still* going and making a toy of him, but his presence as a White Car means that we're unlikely to see the much-needed Jazz or Wheeljack in the future. I agree that the lack of Jazz and Wheeljack is odd. I suppose they re reserving Jazz for the movie or animated lines. But, Wheeljack should be a part of TFU.

Kup is one of the few characters that i can tolerate the G1 toys for. I would not mind a newer/better figure. But, the old one is actually pretty good. The Blaster, Springer and Roadbuster figures mentioned above are all junk recolors. I do not even count them when it comes to giving Hasbro points. (Nothing wrong with recolors mind you. But, those were not well thought out recolors.)

Good mould Wreckers is a nice idea. But, would not making a full set of Wreckers toys kind of defeat the original purpose/appeal of the characters?

Dom
-wow, PCC is continuing a proud tradition of cruddy combiners.

Shit, if all it takes is posting news, I might up my newsposting ratio from here on out. I only live in Pennsylvania, after all. (Granted, circumstances would mean I still wouldn't have been able to go this year, but hey. Imagine if I had! Onslaught Six Goes To Toyfair! *intro guitar solo*)

Hells yeah. I want a new Wheeljack. Wheeljack's the man.
