ROTF passed over for best F/X oscar

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Yeah, I haven't seen Up myself, though I really want to. Personally though, I think the real reason Up's there and in Best Picture is so the Academy can make up for passing over Wall-E last time. Now THAT was an animated film that deserved Best Picture, if I do say so myself.

As for Coraline, I was mostly shocked to see that one on the list, since I coulda sworn it came out like two or three years ago. I dunno. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome movie with some incredible design sensibilities and a refreshingly frank and straightforward tone for such a film, I just...hadn't realized it was so recent.

Time flies, man. I myself only realized it'd come out just last year during the Golden Globes or what the hell ever. (Where they similarly lost to Up. And the only reason I knew about that was because Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer went and Tweeted about it. Yay Twitter!)

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.
