TF3 in 2011

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

It had it's problems, but overall I walked outta that theatre grinning like a loon and extremely happy to have seen that movie.

So yeah, nothing like ROTF. ;)

I hate to be unkind, but I'm glad Orci and Kurtzman are not returning for the third installment. There's no guarantee that the new writer will be any better, but we can hope.
I feel similarly, they are very locked into writing a film that fits the studio needs, not a film that fits a vision befitting the brand.

Or maybe I oughtta just go ahead and be one of those people in love with JJ Abrams, I guess.
Not to get into a thing about Star Trek beyond saying I didn't enjoy it and it was bereft of soul, instead relying on cinematic cliches (many of them ripped straight from Star Wars), cheap character nods, and textbook character arcs that had nothing to do with any of Gene Roddenberry's vision. Ok, I guess I got into a thing, sorry. Anyway, even ASIDE from that, their writing starts at Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, carries through Xena, Alias, Michael Bay's "The Island", the abysmal Zorro sequel, Mission Impossible III, and into Transformers. But honestly, from what I know of their I think a lot of their career has been a lot of very expensive lesser-than material.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I liked it. But I was focused more on the acting than anything else trying to see how these new actors played their roles without copying original performances and I thought they all did a brilliant job. You know, I liked the story too.
