Indeed. That episode changed the way Transformers worked 'forever.'

Thankfully, the Spark concept seems to be taking a back seat more now though. (I credit the movie for this.)

What's really funny is that waaaaaaaaaay back when I first joined the (earilier ititeration of these) forums, that's pretty much how my thought process worked. Of course, this was back when everybody hated, HATED Beast Wars, so.

On that note, I'm pretty much the only one that thinks "The Low Road" is actually brilliant, aren't I?
