I really hate the packaging's character art

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Dude... Marcelo Matere is an awesome artist. He just did was Hasbro asked him to do, which was to make them static looking.

Coloring and printing also play roles here. I have seen old comics that looked good in the 70s and 80s look awful when reprinted with modern techniques. Even comics published as recently as the 90s can have this problem.

You can't fix the problem with Prowl, Sunstreaker and Ironhide being all DURRRR-like.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Different facial expressions would've made an enormous difference. They could, hey, be looking at the purchaser buying the toy, and pulling off a look specific to the character. Sunstreaker's arrogance, Prowl's haughty logic, OcTankorr's deviousness.. Be better than "Something unsurprising is to the right", anyway.

They look creepy and not static but shocked and soulless. And most have the exact same face.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

To me, that blank/soulless expression they have is static. I don't think they look creepy either, just... different.

I don't get it.

Although the fact that that particular comic is being used somehow in a humourous context is funny in and of itself.

I lol'd when that comic first hit the net. It was almost as blatantly obvious as Shortpacked!'s "drama tag".
