Sam Raimi. You know you want it. It won't happen, but you know you want it.

I really don't, actually. I hate me some Spider-Movies. Gah. No one-liners and lots of wanky angstmongering does not scream entertainment. I wanted Spider-Man, not Dawson's Creek With Some Superheroes Maybe.138 Scourge wrote:Sam Raimi. You know you want it. It won't happen, but you know you want it.
God no! While I enjoyed the Spider-Man films, but I think they could have been so much better than they were. Peter was WAY over obsessed with MJ in all 3 movies and as O86 said, "lots of wanky angstmongering" isn't fun to watch. Even with the "Parker luck", Peter's life isn't that terrible. And I've never cared for many of the casting choices...138 Scourge wrote:Sam Raimi. You know you want it. It won't happen, but you know you want it.
Yeah, Drag Me to Hell rocked.Onslaught Six wrote:Hey, there were a *couple* one-liners in the Spidey flicks. Although I must agree, not enough.
Mind, Raimi's issues with Spiderman don't apply to his other work, I think. The Evil Dead films are awesome in so many ways, and I hear Drag Me To Hell is pretty decent, too.
I remember the awesome early/mid-90s Spider-Man script that's floating around online, where Shocker is the villain and Sandman is his flunkie. Peter rips his costume and ends up buying a knockoff, which is actually of higher quality than his original suit. (Some of Shocker's lines are transposed verbatim to Gobby in the movie that we actually got, also. Very worth a read if you can find it.)138 Scourge wrote:And no, Peter's life doesn't suck, because, hey, Spider-Powers are spectacular, but man, everything is always getting in his way. He's gotta be the only superhero that had to buy a cheap knock off of his costume because his Aunt confiscated his real suit.
Nice. I always get a laugh out of the panels where Peter's thinking "Man, I hate sewing and I'm so bad at it", when he's chosen to sew himself one of the most crazy complicated suits known to herokind.Onslaught Six wrote: Peter rips his costume and ends up buying a knockoff, which is actually of higher quality than his original suit.
Well it was designed for the show business, not crime fighting.138 Scourge wrote: when he's chosen to sew himself one of the most crazy complicated suits known to herokind.
Yeah, but still:Sparky Prime wrote:Well it was designed for the show business, not crime fighting.138 Scourge wrote: when he's chosen to sew himself one of the most crazy complicated suits known to herokind.
Pretty much the same point.138 Scourge wrote: when he's chosen to sew himself one of the most crazy complicated suits known to show business.
