The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Is it actually a white repaint? I thought Optimus Maximus was going to be an RID2015 cartoon thing.
We'd seen a differently-size/cropped version of that picture a few months earlier, but that's the new one.
Yeah, that's the artwork I referred to earlier myself. But still, I haven't seen the name "Optimus Maximus" come up for anything but RID2015 thus far so I'm wondering where they got that from. And it really doesn't show Optimus that well although it certainly looks like a white repaint, from what little of him we see. I remain skeptic until we get more information.

Where did you see 'Optimus Maximus' referred to for RID15? I've only seen it in reference to this guy here.
Given that it's a repaint of a Combiner Wars mold shown combined with three other toys we know are also from Combiner Wars, it's not too hard to hypothesize that this white repaint is, indeed, a Combiner Wars toy.

One of the press show descriptions TFW2005 posted a while back. Something about Optimus taking a journey in the afterlife, learning from the original Primes to reach the next level.

But Optimus is also the only combiner that isn't a part of an actual combiner team. It's not hard to theorize Hasbro would give him his own team so to speak.

And they used the name 'Optimus Maximus' in reference to that? All toys we've seen of Optimus in his RID15 incarnation so far have been named 'Optimus Prime'.

Okay, I'm feeling dense, but I'm not 100% certain what you're trying to imply here. Yeah, the Autobot car repaints are almost certainly meant to 'go with' Optimus. We also have a white repaint of Optimus coming up, also named Optimus just with a different 'surname' as it were, which has been pictured, twice now, combined with said Autobot repaints. I'm not doubting at all that the Autobot car repaints are meant to go with Optimus.

If it's a journey Optimus makes through the series, it'd make sense his new upgraded form wouldn't come until later on down the line like usual. But anyway, I found the article, it actually refers to him as Spoiler
Optimus Supreme
. Guy's got too many alternate names popping up lately.

Are we even arguing here? I seriously can't tell.
We've seen the same artwork, cropped twice, not two pictures. I'm just saying I'd like to see some more details confirming the name "Optimus Maximus" in Combinder Wars, like maybe a statement from Hasbro, not just a partial of a larger image.

Ah, neat. Might have something to do with that super-huge Optimus toy coming out later, the one we saw at Toyfair.

Okay, I can see where you're coming from on that one. Admittedly, I have no idea where TFW pulled the name 'Optimus Maximus' from, but we might as well call it *something* until we get an official moniker ('White Optimus Repaint" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue). Are we at least in agreement that it's likely not Ultra Magnus?
BWprowl wrote:Are we at least in agreement that it's likely not Ultra Magnus?
Yeah, from what information we've got I'd agree it won't be an Ultra Magnus. Like Shockwave said, I think people were only speculating it would be before we found out Magnus was getting his own brand new mold.
