MP Grimlock confirmed, photos!

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!

Some new magazine scans of the figure are available. See the front page for a link. I think I'd have preferred a less cartoon-accurate dino mode, but rather something closer to the original toy. The bot mode looks great though.

I..have decided against ordering Masterpiece Grimlock. He is too ridiculously expensive for what he is. So I must await a potential Hasbro release. Sigh.

That's what I'll end up doing as well. Though admittedly I tried that with Starscream, and only saw the figure in retail once, and after that it was gone. Hopefully any US release of Grimlock won't be so difficult to find.

It grievously irks me to pass up such a big ticket item, especially one I'm looking forward to, yet the exchange rate is simply shocking. It would be cheaper to wait until it levels out and buy secondhand. Alas.

If it were a G2 repaint, mind you, I'd be all over it. Giant blue Grimlock? Yes please.

New pics hit, and they were pretty much the first time I've ever really sat down and 'looked' at him.

He doesn't look like a Masterpiece figure. He looks like an oversized Classics toy.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I wish Classics Grimlock looked as good as MP Grimlock.

That's only because ClaGrims isn't exactly a very accurate Grimlock toy. He's just kind of average, to be honest, but his altmode rules. His swordgun is crap, though.

This.

I try picturing it as a gun with a big ol' bayonet, but it doesn't help.

I still sorta like ClaGrims, though. Like you say, though, the altmode's the best thing 'bout it.

I really *looked* at MP Grimlock myself the other day, and I...kinda want one now. He looks surprisingly cool, especially in robot mode. I dunno, maybe I've just warmed up to him because of Maximum Dinobots, but if I see a dealer selling him at Fanime at the end of this month, I just might have to jump on it.

Incidentally, this would be my first MP figure. Although I would like to get MP-04 Convoy at some point. Megatron and Starscream hold no interest for me at all.

Starscream's 'okay.' Don't go out of your way to get him.

I so want Megs, though.
