Re: AOE Deluxe and Power Attack figures getting confused
At the very least the simplified 2007 movie TF toys called " Fast action battlers" had a decent amount of articulation in the robot modes. These AOE "Power attack" toys look like they barely have one or two articullated joints in the robot modes.
I can sorta understand creating more simplified toy versions for the younger kids to play with. Taking away articulation on the "Power Attack" robot modes seems kinda cruel, meiser & a definte cost cutting savings thing. Done to mazimize more profits.
Yeah, I think those over sized action figures called titans are a bad idea.
Also don't care for the AOE Dino riders, As they look terrible and cheap. They kinda remind me of those Beast Machines Charriots riders beasty looking abonimations toys.
I read on-line ( don't know if it true or how long it will last) that Hasbro won't be releasing any Legends & Basics/scouts/Commanders sized TF toys for the AOE TF toy lines in the USA. I think this was a smart move as the smalls ruined the DOTM toy line. As most USA stores had 90% DOTM toys smalls in stores in 2011.

Re: AOE Deluxe and Power Attack figures getting confused
I honestly think the AOE more complex TF toys called Generations toys are much better designed toys compared inferior awful DOTM toys.
Currently, I only plan to buy the AOE Generations Dinobots toys. Think these are pure awesome and well made toys. Love the G-2 Dinobots colors the AOE Dinobots toys received but if 1985 G-1 dinobots colored decos comes out,I'll buy them also.
The Main Problem I see is the AOE Generations TF toys are being drastly 9 to 1 ratio outnumbered/Suffocated/drowned/overrun by all the more awful waste of plastic AOE toys called the dino riders,Titans, flip & change, one step,Constructbots,Power attack toys. IT'S GOING TO BE HARD FOR THOSE AOE GENERATIONS TOYS TO GET NOTICED,GRAB SHELF/PEG SPACE & GET BOUGHT WHEN THEIR IS 90% INFERIOR AOE TOYS TAKING CENTER STAGE & PUSHING THE AOE GENERATIONS TOYS BACK STAGE.
About the only DOTM toys I bought & would give any amount of praise is DOTM Leader sized Ironhide & DOTM Leader sized Sentinel Prime. Thought everything else was inferior wastes of plastic.

HA! I forgot, Hasbro doesn't want "Transform" to become a genericized term a la "band-aid" and "kleenex", so they would say "convert" or "change", not "transform".Almighty Unicron wrote:Convert.JediTricks wrote:Hasbro to parents: "what do you want? THEY TRANSFORM, DON'T THEY?!?"Onslaught Six wrote:Yeah, I'm waiting for the inevitable Hasbro interview on the next line's packaging where they talk about how parents (and other consumers) were extremely pissed to be overpaying on toys due to poorly managed shelves from similar product.
The amount of "junk for kids" sub lines this movie has is shocking. There are Power Attackers, One Step Changers, Flip-n-Twist, Titans which look like upsized shampoo bottles, Dino Riders, and that doesn't even count the Construct-bots which by comparison are golden. And none look fun, they all look tremendously compromised and chintzy and overpriced. I have a Fast Action Battler, it's a real Transformer and it has a gimmick, that's how a kids line should be if there's no faith that they'll enjoy the mainline - good enough toy and good enough transformer.Tigermegatron wrote:At the very least the simplified 2007 movie TF toys called " Fast action battlers" had a decent amount of articulation in the robot modes. Personally, I liked the little figures in the ROTF line, but the DOTM line used Cyberverse and those don't often feel like they're real Transformers that you'd put with regular TFs.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

That's the other thing when I was at Target yesterday, the employees were stocking the shelves as I was there. I commented on "good luck telling them apart" and one of the employees actually started going through and repegging them. I surprised that he was actually able to tell the difference.

Re: AOE Deluxe and Power Attack figures getting confused
I actually thought Cyberverse felt more substantial than 2007/ROTF's Legends. There was a move to make them more accurate and articulated, and they had two size classes plus playsets and accessories backing them up. It felt like a genuine subline rather than an afterthought cheapo extra size class.JediTricks wrote:Personally, I liked the little figures in the ROTF line, but the DOTM line used Cyberverse and those don't often feel like they're real Transformers that you'd put with regular TFs.
Admittedly, once you're clued in on the differently-cut top corners of the boxes that JT mentioned, it can be easier to sort through them at a glance, but that's still no substitute for legitimately-divided packaging. It falls into the same thing as the little 'Generations' label, in that it's practically a 'secret' that fans/consumers have to find out for themselves. This isn't In-N-Out guys, I don't need some special inclusive way to tell my TFs apart!Shockwave wrote:That's the other thing when I was at Target yesterday, the employees were stocking the shelves as I was there. I'm one of the bigger Hasbro apologists out there, probably moreso than I should be, and even I'm still taken aback by how badly they goofed on this one.

I was referring to the Basics in ROTF, not Legends, not sure if I made that clear enough.BWprowl wrote:I actually thought Cyberverse felt more substantial than 2007/ROTF's Legends. Anyway, Cyberverse eventually came into its own once DOTM got the ball rolling, I can agree to that part. I still don't think Legion feel like real Transformers though, while Commanders generally did in Prime at least.
Ha! I wasn't going to quote this part since it's well-discussed by you guys there, but that In-n-Out comment made me laugh, it really is like a secret.Admittedly, once you're clued in on the differently-cut top corners of the boxes that JT mentioned, it can be easier to sort through them at a glance, but that's still no substitute for legitimately-divided packaging. A person I know on another board was complaining that the mainline deluxes were all these guys with giant fists and Hound with that panel opened for no reason, I had to educate him on Power Attackers, he had NO IDEA and didn't know there was a regular Crosshairs at all - and he's been an off-and-on collector for 30 years!!! Goofed indeed. Even now that I've explained the difference to him, his first experience with the line - and he's bought a few pieces from every movie line so far - has been 100% negative and is skewing his outlook on collecting it at all.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?
Re: AOE Deluxe and Power Attack figures getting confused
And I wasn't trying to be an apologist, if anything I was actually citing this as another example where they packaging fails. In this case a fan had to point out that their toys were shelved wrong. So, yeah, epic fail Hasbro!

I almost accidentally bought the Power Attacker Scorn yesterday. That would have sucked.
Incidentally, I also found Slash and Deluxe Scorn, but had to pass for money reasons. Kinda wish I hadn't, but you know. (I would have wiped out most of the Dinobot hunting in one day!)

Re: AOE Deluxe and Power Attack figures getting confused
I hit 5 different Target and TRU stores the past few days, and 100% of them had their Power Attacker figures mixed in with their Deluxes. Actually, they didn't even have that many deluxes anymore, and they're not likely to order more with pegs stuffed with Power Attackers.
