Age of Extinction movie Trailer

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

I really wouldn't call the silver paint those cars used the same color as grey. And Blackout as a military helicopter certainly didn't use the same colors that was. He was closer to an actual grey.
that was metal colored. Because the metal wasn't colored.
:? Was it colored metal or wasn't it?
And now we have more metal colored beast bots with no more color on the metal other than whatever color the metal is. It's just blah.
I get your meaning, that you want more than just metallic looking robots. But metals have different hues and tones as well. Metal is not all not simply just the same color. Grimlock for example I'd say has more of a rough brownish hued metallic look while the pteranodon looks to have a more polished blue hued metal appearance. I dunno, it just seems to me like you're over generalizing it a bit. I wouldn't say so many of the colors they've used for the Transformers in these films are so similar.

 That's funny. You're right, I am generalizing but really the generalization is kind of how I feel and it's one reason I don't really care for the movie designs. It just seems like there's not very much variety in the colors or that there could be more. For me it's reached a point where I see a new character that's some variation of grey/silver and think "Oh great, more bland". I mean, there are certainly no lack of variations of Grimlock over the years if Bay didn't want to use his G1 colors. Ok, bad example since Grimlock was largely silver to begin with.

I guess part of this has to do with the designs themselves. They're so complex with so many robotic metallic parts showing that you really need the color to help to distinguish between things like heads, hands, legs, etc... and on the silver/grey ones, I often find myself wondering what the hell I'm looking at.

If the rumors are true. The TF4 robots that the Humans create, are not going to be techno-organic. Because the Earth humans in the TF movie verse are not this advanced. At best the humans in the TF movie verse might create EXO-suit type robots. Maybe the humans will find some dead transformers from previous TF movies, gut them out & control them like cobra & his crew did in that 1986 season 3 cartoon episode called " only human".

At this point,I don't think the Earth humans in the TF Movie Verse are capable of creating nebulan style Headmasters or powermasters tech transformers.

It's supposed to be a two headed Pteranodon. Not sure why it has two heads, but it is a Dinobot at any rate. I've seen a report he might be called Pteradon in the film.
That thing looks nothing like a pteranodon! It's got big snaggle teeth! And two fucking heads!

And two tails. But it is supposed to be based on a pteranodon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it also attacking Bumblebee? Makes me think that the decepticons are going to be getting some monsters to go with the dinobots.

Hard to say with the few seconds they show of the scene in the trailer... It might be attacking him, or it could be swooping down to give Bumblebee a lift.

/shrug

I think both sides will be getting "monstrous" beastformers, with the dinobots simply advertised more heavily because fans love grimlock but guys like abominus or monstructor have fewer fans. I think the clunky inclusion of the Predacons into Prime and the "Beast hunters" subline was to get the fandom appreciative of "monsters" as an acceptable altmode choices as opposed to regular ol' animals like we've been used to. "Extinction" is often used in a biological context, so I wouldn't be surprised if techno-organics is an important part of the film's plot.

I gotta agree on the lack of colors.

There's lots of black
lots of gray
lots of silver
lots of off black
lots of darker gray
gunmetal gray
scuffed silver
light black
super dark dark black
polished silver
blue-ish silver

etc. etc.

It'd be nice to have some other colors in the mix. Like maybe red or yellow or orange or purple or anything.
