Re: MP Soundwave and Acid Storm up, but no order til 7-18
FURTHER UPDATE: MP soundwave kept selling out 20+ times all day today & then getting restock 20+times today. I literally had the toy in my cart 20+times today, only for it to sell out within 5 seconds. At one point I called the TRU.COM customer service phone number & asked what was going on with MP Soundwave. The customer service women told confirmed the toy was selling out super fast & then getting restocked 20+ times today. The customer service women said people were literally calling twice per minute asking what was going on. I then asked if anyone was successful at ordering MP Soundwave & she confirmed numerous orders were placed successfully.
I asked if the TRU site had a data glitch, she said no,She said the thing was super popular & was selling out at a high paced rate.
Oddly enough, the figure I had no interest in buying, called MP Acid Storm,Was a bit easier to buy from the TRU.com web site. yes it kept selling out,but the restock lasted for minutes whereas MP soundwave's restock barely lasted 5 seconds until it sold out.

UPDATE: TRU.com/maybe the stores too in USA,Currently has a sale going on,where you buy one TF toy at regular price & get the second one for 50% off. I'm hoping this sale stays in effect until TRU.com restocks on MP Soundwave or until the TRU USA stores stock MP Soundwave on shelves.

Apparently Soundwave has started to be found at retail stores despite reports they wouldn't be available in stores for a few more weeks.

Thread update: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... ail/27972/
Gentlemen start your engines, the highly anticipated Toys"R"Us Exclusive Hasbro Masterpiece Soundwave has been sighted at retail! Twitter user Matt Guzzy found the figure at a Toys"R"Us store in Arizona (pay no attention to all those Star Wars The Black Series figures, though they are pretty awesome). This version of Masterpiece Soundwave comes with all the accessories that were included with Takara Tomy's release, plus you get all five cassettes: Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, Rumble, and Frenzy. Happy hunting

I checked a couple of my local TRU's today. No Soundwave unfortunately, but I saw one location had the shelf space set up for it at least. Hope to find one soon...

Soundwave is very nice, I'm really glad I got one. The demand at SDCC was huge, Entertainment Earth had to hurriedly switch to a raffle draw system for buyers after preview night, and then they even ran out of raffle tickets and had to switch back to first-come first-served. Acid Storm was popular but nothing like that.
Soundwave as a set delivers hardcore, there's a lot of great stuff going on, there's a dummy headphone jack that actually takes 3.5mm headphone plugs (metal!), the rewind and ff buttons push, 3 tapes can fit in the chest and eject one at a time (although some stick in there), there's some die-cast, lots of great stuff. The yellow eyes harken to the G1 figure, but I think having swappable eyes a la MP Grimlock would have been better. The minions are all really keen, although I cannot see how Takara is expecting $30 a piece for these guys. Good accessories, they included gun-mode Megatron and fixed the crumbly gun-butt piece.
The big purple box is an odd choice, it's obviously a set designed for window-boxing and then they cover it up, like they're fearing shrinkage, but these won't be on the shelves long enough to get stolen. The outer black band around the majority of the box is a mistake if it gets to shelves for more than an hour, that thing is going to get torn UP.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Nice find. What was the price before tax?Sparky Prime wrote:Found a Soundwave at TRU today! The box he comes in is HUGE!
The box is very big, another reason I think this was meant to be a window box, the box is big because of the spread out layout of the product inside the clear tray.

That it was, I got lucky. I got to the store just as it was opening and one of the clerks asked me if I was looking for something in-particular. When I told him, he said they'd just gotten 2 with last nights shipment and were keeping them at the guest services desk. They said they've had a lot of people calling about it and implemented a first come first serve type situation. So it's a good thing he asked me, otherwise I probably wouldn't have realized they had them at all. Before taxes, it was $119.99. Edit: FixedJediTricks wrote:Nice find. What was the price before tax?
Yeah, I can see how was intended to have a window. Especially, like you say, how on display everything in the tray looks when you pull it out of the box. Still don't understand why the box is labeled "MP-02".The box is very big, another reason I think this was meant to be a window box, the box is big because of the spread out layout of the product inside the clear tray.

I'm assuming you don't actually mean you spend $200 before taxes on this figure. $119.99 is what you meant, or...?Sparky Prime wrote:That it was, I got lucky. That is a very lucky way to get one, congrats!
That MP-02 seems like a very clumsy mistake, but maybe Hasbro has started implementing their own MP numbering system in the US.
