Stickers does seem like a bit of a dated thing. The last time I applied a sticker to a figure was... Alternators Tracks. Hrm. At any rate, I don't see it as a big deal Metroplex comes with a sticker sheet. I used to do that for the Power Rangers Megazords I got back in the day all the time and they've held up. Although I do see the potential problems with needing to apply the stickers...

I like it! Big ticket nostalgia item like this? I'm surprised it doesn't have diecast too.

I don't think it was budget cuts. The sticker sheet is something that Hasbro did to please veteran TF fans & give the toy a more homage old school feel.

Since none of the TF news sites who went to Toyfair in Manhattan touched the toy nor dug their finger nails checking for stickers on Titan Metroplex. I suspect the Stickers were applied to the Toyfair Titan Metroplex toy.

Looking at my Toyfair Hasbro official pics that I saved on my computer---> all this detail on the toy was NOT painted on details,IT WAS ALWAYS STICKERS TO START WITH. Hasbro didn't remove any painted on details due to the toyfair toy never having them to begin with,A hasbro crew member must have applied all the stickers for the Toyfair titan metroplex toy months ago.

The Reason why the Takara Titan Metroplex toy pics we saw months ago had no details was because the stickers were not applied. I highly doubt Takara will bother to paint on the details & AX the sticker sheet. Because putting that mold through the painted on details process would be too costly especially considering how huge the toy is. If Takara adds anything to this toy it'll be vacumized Chrome paint,Shinny gloss,That extra gun,Maybe a few color changes or color shades changes.

Yeah, see, that just makes me think that these were a last-minute addition that was necessitated by the budget/MSRP getting cut down unexpectedly at the end of the development cycle.
Nah, that's SOP for stickers. GI Joe had it occasionally, Playmates' Star Trek vehicles had it a lot, SW vehicles had it as well back when everything was stickers. The problem is that the factory that makes the toys and the printer that makes the stickers aren't always on the same page, designers are supposed to act as the go-between but it's easy to miss one or two things. A long sticker and misnumbered stickers are par for the course and wouldn't be evidence of a budget slash. In fact, the very existence of stickers proves it couldn't have been at the end of development now that I think about it, they require flat cut-out spaces to be cut into the tooling itself, which is earlier in the process then worrying about what to cut into the paint masks.

How's the weather in that fantasy world you live in where they did this for nostalgia? ;)

I don't agree that that would be their motive, otherwise it wouldn't have the FOC sounds and voice clips, and it wouldn't bother being in a line that is all about freshening up the classic characters - no other Generations figure requires stickers.

Takara-Tomy has updated their Twitpic page with updated pics of their version of titan metroplex, toy was shown at a recent media event overseas. http://twitpic.com/cwtuc9 http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... lex/27533/

Still no word if takara will use stickers or paint on the details.

Judging from these newer pics,It looks like takara painted on the details.

IMO,Even if takara does paint on the details & doesn't use stickers--->This is still not worth me paying thre double or tripple takara import prices+the exspensive shipping fees to get the takara version. Personally I feel paying double or tripple is ridiculous because I can literally buy two or three of the Hasbro USA retail store versions. I CAN LIVE/DEAL WITH THE STICKERS & PAY 75% LESS.

Even the relatively cheap US Metroplex is going to cost more than I am willing to pay for a toy that Hasbro obviously cheaped out on. For the cost and size of that toy, I expect more than stickers.

-might get a Japanese one, money allowing. Maybe.

Their is just no way,I could ever justify paying Takara's/imports sites double/tripple prices for Takara's Metroplex. I'd rather use that money & buy two/three of Hasbro's USA titan Metroplex.

That'd be a hell of a city right there.

Saw that. So, it's described as being the "same as Comic-Con" in the video. Uh oh. 2 blasters, chrome face, painted details. Looks like Hasbro Toy Shop's website is crashing on Monday, July 22nd (the day after Comic-Con ends is usually when they put up exclusives).
