New vehicles for TF4
Re: New vehicles for TF4
Hard to tell from the angle but it looks like it might be too small to be an ambulance. Prowl and Bulkhead maybe? Red Alert and Trailbreaker?

There is a bit of an incline to that street, it is big enough to be an ambulance.Shockwave wrote:Hard to tell from the angle but it looks like it might be too small to be an ambulance.

Optimus still rockin' the midlife crisis paintjob.
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did
Re: New vehicles for TF4
Given that character names are fluid up to, if not through, production, I would not spend too much time worrying over that sort of thing.
And, really, how many of the movie characters are meaningfully similar to G1 or other iterations? Most of the movie character names are essentially holding a copy-right.

Re: New vehicles for TF4
So, Bumblebee's new body design was ripped off from some guy's 7 years of hard work over his restored/modded Camaro: http://jalopnik.com/did-transformers-4- ... -510655228
That guy worked hard to make his car the way he wanted it, and now due to the laziness of Michael Bay's production designers, people are going to think he ripped off the new Transformers movie, when the truth is clearly the opposite.
I don't even like this restomod, but I appreciate that someone put their own heart into making a car that suited their wants and needs to make something that speaks to them and them alone. To have that thoughtlessly ripped off for another shitty Transformers movie is really messed up.
If you're wondering what specific mods are the same:
- matte paint job
- nose stripe (different color, same stripe)
- wheels
- low-profile tires
- fender flares
- full length grille
- side mirrors
- door handles
- cowl induction hood
- chin spoiler with stabilizer bars
- lower bumper shaved
- side vent windows
That's a LOT of mods, too many IMO to be a coincidence. Hopefully the at least make this right by him in some way, although I cannot imagine how that'd happen, if it were my custom car and I wasn't a TF fan, I'd be livid.

Good points all around.BWprowl wrote:I'll fuckin' believe it when I see names on packages. Bay is NOTORIOUS about spreading misinformation about names and identities of characters, and I don't trust anything until we've got concrete, serious confirmation.Shockwave wrote:Well I just went to tfw and apparently the Bugatti is Drift and the Stingray is Slingshot.
Wouldn't Drift be better served by being a Japanese model of car, anyway?

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Speaking of names which may or may not actually make it into the film itself, according the Michael Bay's twitter account, the military vehicle is going to be Hound.
Wow... Yeah, there are way too many similarities for that to be coincidence.JediTricks wrote:So, Bumblebee's new body design was ripped off from some guy's 7 years of hard work over his restored/modded Camaro

That was my initial guess, they were talking military ambulance but I was pretty sure that's not the right design. Odds of using hologram powers? Zero?Sparky Prime wrote:Speaking of names which may or may not actually make it into the film itself, according the Michael Bay's twitter account, the military vehicle is going to be Hound.
I know, right? Shameless of them.Wow... Yeah, there are way too many similarities for that to be coincidence.JediTricks wrote:So, Bumblebee's new body design was ripped off from some guy's 7 years of hard work over his restored/modded Camaro

It's almost like these movies aren't based on G1 at all!JediTricks wrote:That was my initial guess, they were talking military ambulance but I was pretty sure that's not the right design. Or anything! It's like they're loud and stupid and based on nothing whatsoever except Michael Bay's hatred for the brand and love of money!BWprowl wrote:It's almost like these movies aren't based on G1 at all!JediTricks wrote:That was my initial guess, they were talking military ambulance but I was pretty sure that's not the right design. So it turns out, the guy who built that Camaro, it wasn't just some restomod, it actually had real meaning to him, it was about where he came from, an homage to his father's own Camaro and all sorts of real from-the-heart stuff, and he actually is a TF fan, just doesn't want his work being stolen so blatantly:

Really seems thoughtless of Bay's production designers to just steal its look.

Re: New vehicles for TF4
See, that's all perfectly fair. I was just pointing out that it's a little silly to complain that a different-continuity TF might not have anything in common with a G1 guy it shares a name with, since TF as a brand has been doing that since way before Bay.JediTricks wrote:Or anything! This, on the other hand, is just getting more ridiculous by the second. Thoughtless is definitely the word I'd use, just yoinking the whole thing without even contacting the dude. Especially since he's a TF fan and all, how hard would it have been to call him up and say "Hey, we really like your car design, would it be okay if we stuck it in our movie?". At least that way, if he did say 'no', they would know that they would need to change some things about the design to make it work, instead of, what, hoping that this *one guy* might not notice that their highly publicized, multi-million-dollar movie had his car plastered everywhere as a main character? Did they really expect to sneak that one through? It just makes everyone involved with the production look like idiots.
