I think it was a great mold ruined by various cheap & ugly colors that Hasbro applied to the vector prime mold. Takara colored the mold in much more exspensive beautiful colors.Dominic wrote:"Back on topic: "Cybertron" Vector Prime is a favourite of mine that few people appreciate.
My favorite color scheme for this mold is the TFCC Botcon Alpha Trion colors, this is a thing of beauty.

For me, the mold's biggest problem is the overly simple design and transformation. Having half the vehicle become a backpack, not even unfurl to be a cape was a poor choice. Having the legs just sit there as a cargo box was wasteful. And he's pretty expensive for what you end up getting, since they neutered the chest light gimmick. Great sculpting too, such a waste.Tigermegatron wrote:I think it was a great mold ruined by various cheap & ugly colors that Hasbro applied to the vector prime mold. That's not to say the US deco isn't mediocre, it is.

How much does he even go for now? I think mine was a gift, so...

I liked that mold, but the big failing for me was the use of soft/pliable plastic for the wings. Other than that, he was basically a Transformer Star Destroyer. And that was all kinds of cool.

While I'll admit I no fan over overly simplified transformations in my TF toys. I can sometimes over look this when the TF toy has a desired sculpt,I like in both modes. In the case of 2005 voyager Vector prime,I do like the spece ship alt mode as it reminds me of a star wars & sixshot space ship/jet alt mode design. I also think the vector Prime robot mode look powerful & sculpted in areas on the toy in my preferences.
I don't like the weak/thin/rubber wings/things on vector prime's toy. I think they work a bit better in robot mode as it sorta resembles a cape design.
Like I said,I hate all the Hasbro releases of the vector prime voyager sized toy,due to the ugly & cheaper paint/color schemes on the toy. I reccomend the Korean vector prime toy as it has a higher end more exspensive color scheme but at the much lower price compared to the japan release version.
I'M CURIOUS,Why are some fans here/maybe Jedi saying hasbro gutted out the light up chest gimmick for the Hasbro release of voyager vector prime??Does the Japanese & korean release versions of Vector Prime have the light up chest gimmicks?? how about the TFCC/BOTCON Alpha trion toy does it use the hasbro or takara mold with or without the light up chest gimmcks??
For those un-aware,I actually successfully used black RIT powered box dye to dye the Hasbro vector prime golden brown caramel recolor into a solid black toy with silver highlights. it looks kinda cool,as now it looks like a BLACK NIGHT MEDEIVAL version or nemesis black colored version. I REALLY NEED TO START TAKING PICS/VIDEOS & POSTING THEM ON-LINE SO SOME HERE CAN SEE SOME OF MY COOL TF TOYS CUSTOMS.

Which reminds me I should do the same. I recently customized Generations Red Alert into Breakdown and custom painted a BW Blackarachnia.

Cybertron Vector Prime? You're gonna love this, between $30 and $1 on ebay, those are the LOOSE complete finished auctions! With shipping it's between $12 and $35. The orange Universe redeco from 2006 goes for $3 complete!Onslaught Six wrote:How much does he even go for now? I think mine was a gift, so...
It's a theory of mine, no use of the figure has actually come to market with the gimmick, but he's the only TFC figure with a cyberkey gimmick dead center of his chest in bot mode, he's got a big red dome in the center of that chest perfectly sized for an LED to shine through a cyberkey, and the electronics for the sounds are not only not impressive enough to justify a key gimmick but they also sport a lot of battery power 2 AAAs for just a simple sound module.Tigermegatron wrote:I'M CURIOUS,Why are some fans here/maybe Jedi saying hasbro gutted out the light up chest gimmick for the Hasbro release of voyager vector prime??Does the Japanese & korean release versions of Vector Prime have the light up chest gimmicks?? how about the TFCC/BOTCON Alpha trion toy does it use the hasbro or takara mold with or without the light up chest gimmcks??

The Korean version with the more beautiful high end paint job for the Vector Prime toy sells for under $40 in brand new sealed box shape on the secondary market,Which is a great price.JediTricks wrote:Cybertron Vector Prime?
