What do you think about the Beast Hunters Prime news.

No noses? No problem! Zombiebots? Sure, why not. A confusing new canon that allows loose and contradictory material? And now a new sequel show with an entirely different art style that takes place way in the future!

Thundertron is already getting a LioConvoy repaint in Japan, if places aren't lying.

I have a Tumblr, and there are in fact guys on there. Straight, normal, heterosexual guys! It is not as terrible as you might believe. (It can get pretty terrible though, and inevitably you have to put up with somebody posting shitloads of gifs from some British TV show you don't give a fuck about.)

I follow Willis on there because, occasionally, he actually posts things relevant to TF. I don't hate him as much as you guys all seem to; I've recently come to the conclusion that his webcomic is mostly shit and any fiction he writes is obviously glorified fanfiction, but at the same time, he and I agree on (some) things about TF and the fandom itself. Basically, I follow him because he's visible, and more tolerable than people like Vangelus.

I saw the Beast Hunters trailer & Predaking toy images today. wow i'm simply blown away. so awesome in both mode. the toy is rumored to be leader sized.

06,I don't think takara is doing a LIOConvoy repaint using the TFP Thundertron toy. Takara's AM toy line is merely calling the toy by a different name. I seriously doubt takara will give the toy any retooled parts like a new robot head. the colors will most likely be more cartoon accurate than hasbro's. The takara version will replace the hasbro mech tech weapon with a arms micron minicon beast/bot/weapon thing.

Don't I know it. When I first got there, I really pissed some people off in the "social justice blogger" section due to a lot of misunderstanding and a lot of arrogant fuckheads.

I'll watch the first few episodes of the third season and see if it's worth continuing to do so, but I doubt it.

I dunno about Leader sized; maybe Weaponizers? It's hard to tell; we've only seen a couple pics so far. He's certainly big though!

Hate to burst the bubble, but:
http://actionfigures-technetdx.blogspot ... -tomy.html

"AM-21 Arms Master Optimus Prime
AM-22 Dreadwing
AM-23 Wheeljack
AM-24 Cyrus Breakdown
AM-25 Nemesis Prime
AM-27 Ultra Magnus
AM-28 Riperamu (Lio Convoy Thundertron repaint)
AM-29 Shockwave"

There's even a (tiny, low-res) picture where you can see him. Dunno if he's got a new head, or if they're planning on releasing Thundertron on his own later, or what, but they're definitely repainting him in LioConvoy-esque colours. Not sure what "Riperamu" is about--maybe a mistranslation? (If you mangle it enough, it could be "Lio Prime" or "Leo Prime," which makes sense since Takara seems to be going with Optimus Prime for the Prime toyline.)

Saw more pics today too, Predaking's apparently getting at least two toys actually: That big, Leader/Weaponizer/whatever-sized one from yesterday that looks all glorious and all that, and one that appears to be in the Powerizer/Voyager class and looks...decidedly less impressive. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up with a Commander-class toy as well.
Hate to burst the bubble,
Hey now, don't lie.

Eh, maybe I'll jump right in with Season 3 as well, and be utterly confused as to what the hell is going on, but at least at that point maybe I won't be able to tell how good or bad the writing is.

Yeah, Commander-class toy is almost guaranteed. Very few show characters have appeared without getting some kind of Cyberverse toy. (I think Smokescreen doesn't have one yet.)

EDIT: Yup, confirmed:

Transformers Beast Hunters Cyberverse Commander Scale
• Predaking
• Bulkhead

(Bulkhead again??)

Oh man, I hate hate HATE what they showed. My initial reaction was so strong I thought briefly about just walking away from the brand altogether. Everything looks cheap and simple, sculpting is just armor plates without thought, just "here's a dragon, here's another dragon, whatever here's another dragon who cares how it moves it's got arms and legs and stuff buy it". And then the remolded figures we already got look HORRENDOUS and they're bringing that awful Bumblebee mold back yet again despite it FAILING MISERABLY with everybody. They sent out a press release and I can't even bring myself to put it in our news.

BWprowl wrote:I'm only kindasorta in on this Beast Hunters news, due to knowing fuck-all about TFPrime at this point, on account of not watching it since like, episode eight (anyone keeping up on it, has the writing improved any? Is it worth catching up on at all?). That said, the idea of at least a new subline of Beast TFs definitely interests me, and Thundertron's toy looks pretty badass (it's probably the first TFPrime toy I've seen and gone "I have to own that"). We'll see.

So what's this there's gonna be a comic book tie-in to TFPrime/Beast Hunters as well? And Dinobots are in it?
Spoiler
Dinobots are getting to be the new Unicron, in terms of overuse
Prime has actually gotten better in some ways - we barely see the stupid kids anymore (I don't remember the last time we saw Miko) - and they've added a few characters who are different. I actually really liked the first half of last night's episode, Smokescreen once again seemed like he'd be a dope but then actually makes logical choices, and then Megatron threw soldiers after him from the sky... one of them wasn't a flier, that was great. But it still has stupid problems too, behaviors that only apply when the writers need a convenient thing, villains that always overpower heroes no matter how big a deal the heroes get.

I agree with your spoiler.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Really? Wow. I'll admit the red Deluxe guy (What's his name? Laserback?) looks particularly bad, but some of those others--damn, man, Wheeljack! Wheeljack looks like what I wanted the DOTM Wreckers to be.

I agree 100% with you on the re-release or resculpted Prid toys in 2013,these I suspect will bomb in stores. Whether they brand new molds or resculpted molds,it doesn't matter, because they look way to similar to the 2012 Prid toys. To add coal on fire all these resculpted toys are the ones that were easy to find & not as in demand as the harder to find ones. At the very least if hasbro wants to resculpt & re-release Prid toys in 2013,then do Deluxe Vehicon & Deluxe Airachnid. or release The deluxe jet Vehicon everyone wants.

I disagree with the Beast Hunters beast-bots toys. I love all the 2013 beast-bots toys. I think they will all sell beyond well in stores in 2013. I've been missing beast/bots newer TF toys ever since that stupid movie-verse took them all away.

I love the Commander, voyager & Leader sized toys that Predaking is getting in 2013. this is a awesome design in both modes. it'll be the star villian in 2013,this deserves three toys in 2013.

I'm hoping we get a voyager sized Shockwave toy in the 2013 Prime toy line.

Wow, that's...a bit of an intense reaction to less than a dozen toys showed off. We've had bad toylines before, somehow I think we'll survive.

I do think the new X-treem sculpting for the remolded figures is very, very silly (though I'll admit to being amused/charmed by Bulkhead's 'Fashionable Viking Helmet', even if that mold never terribly interested me). Soundwave's about the only one that benefits, looking even more Vehicon-esque than he already did and coming with Ravage. Everyone else is an easy skip, but hey, so was like 60% of the TFPrime line for me in the first place.

I do disagree on the Predacons (or whatever they'll be called) since they look pretty cool in my opinion, and it's been a very long time since we had a subline dedicated to mythical/monstrous creature altmodes. Beats the hell out of more cars and planes, and Leader/Weaponizer/Whatever Predaking and that Legends Twinstrike (Sinnertwin!) look pretty great. Can't wait to see what else comes out of that group.

It's not like that kinda lame news was all we got! Generations is still a thing! They're making that new-ish Omega Supreme! Cheer up, JT!

Agreeing is nice sometimes too. Seriously, they were heavily promoted as a component of FoC (Grimlock's getting YET ANOTHER toy out of that), now they're getting shoehorned into TFPrime, and IDW just had a whole month of comics dedicated to the big lugs. This is what happens when nostalgia favors one particular subgroup, I guess, but damn if it wouldn't be nice to see, I dunno, the Technobots get some spotlight once in a while.
