Ancillary, non-main-line stuff. Star Wars TF, Speed Stars, Titanium Series, Robot Heroes, that sort of thing. They're kinda neat, but we all know they're not really that important. Admit it, you know it's true.

I've seen the toy over a dozen times at almost all the usa based major retail store chains. the toy istelf appears to be a shell former that's super easy to transform like the average basic sized TF toy. I don't like how the alt mode pieces pop on/off & are are needed to hide the robot legs & other stuff. so technically this isn't a transformer,it's a parts former like 1985 omega supreme's toy.
Looking at the back of the box, and a video review, it is not even a shell former. There are enough "extra" parts in robot mode, (half-assed in to being gear), to make another ship alongside the robot. In terms of mass, there is almost as much kibble as there is robot.

-almost tempted to review it first hand.
Tell you what. If you review this awful thing, then I'll take the time to review the Samurai Gigazord that I recently acquired.
I remember when they showed it off at Comic-Con, and I literally just stood there mute because I didn't want to offend them. It's the HUUUUUGE chunks of vehicle on the robot modes which ruins it for me, and the cape that stands up, the giant shield made from half the vehicle, it just looks so awful. And then it's expensive to boot! I doubt I'd even buy this at clearance. WM is starting to do just that, and I can only scoff.
See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Oh man, I'd be tempted to ask you for that one. Seeing the PRSamurai versions of the Shinkenger mecha has been...disappointing, to say the least. BofA's interpretation of Mougyuu Origami (the bull Zord) had me shaking my head in TRU the other month.
Mind you, I'm not the biggest fan of Shinkenger's mecha to begin with, so maybe I'm not the best judge for this sort of thing. But man, I woulda totally bought DaiKaiOh/Clawzord had it not looked so *shitty*!
SWTF AniVader hasn't been warming shelves *too* horribly around here, but it seems stores only have like one or two of it out at a time, so.

It's twelve different robots that all combine into one giant robot, let alone all the other combinations they have that involve a few of them at a time.

I couldn't say no.
Okay, I haven't seen this in stores yet. Is it just a giftset of all the previously released Zord toys in one big, expensive box? Or is it a smaller, more affordable pile of figures whose shortcomings might be more more forgivable thanks to their smaller size? I might be interested now...
That said, I thought long and hard about buying Anakin/Vader. And....I just could not do it.
In theory, I could justify an exception to the "no more toys" rule for something like this. But, there is *nothing* good about that toy. It is a bad translation of a craperific idea. The best thing that I can say about it is that it epitomizes the line, and takes it to a new depth. At least most of the other, smaller and less complex, figures in SWTF have passable to good alternate modes. But, the Star Destroyer/Cruiser modes fail even at that, despite the fact that the design team is told to make the vehicle modes look good. Even putting aside the fact that the "transform" involves flipping the toy over and partially re-assembling it, the alternate modes are too thick.
Do they at least come with anything? By that I mean, the SWTF Death Star Vader came with three mini TIE Fighters, some mini Stormtroopers and a mini Vader. If nothing else, those made good action figures for my action figures.

Actually I just went out and bought all the previously released zords individually. I just bought them all at once. I went into TRU for something unrelated, and I just became obsessed with the Claw Armour Megazord when I saw it. When I realized that there were 12 of these things that all combined into one bigun', I mulled it over for a few months and then got them all. I love the crap out of them.
