So, like Robo Capers then?

See, that's what I was saying in the Gobots thread about innocuous alt modes. I particularly liked Chiller, the Decepticon fridge.

Give me a good TF book. "Robo-Capers" was everything I avoid reading the comics page in the newspaper for.....

And, as much as I want a good TF book, that ain't what I got this week. Actually, I only flipped through it, so I did not get a bad TF comic either...

TF Infestation #1:
Skip this mess. Dixon delivers as expected, meaning it is a predictable and tedious slog devoid of any stylistic or conceptual merit. There is nothing to recommend this book. The only good thing I can say about it is that it is (probably) not tied in with the main IDW TF book, which puts it slightly ahead of last year's "Infestation". On the other hand, that also makes this one a bit easier to skip.

-stopped in to the comic shop randomly....

But what actually happens in it, Dom?? Maybe I'm alone in this, but I'm not one of these people who reads reviews to decide whether I should get something (heck, I don't read reviews if I can help it). But I must admit I'm curious about how IDW are still keeping up the "-ation" schtick. How far can it go and still be part of the same story?

Prowl usually gives good reviews for that as do Anderson and Scourge. Dom... not so much. He comments on the behind the scenes stuff more than the comic itself. Although, I'm right there with you, I'd prefer to know what happens in the comic rather than the editorial stuff.

As for the -ation schtick, this isn't actually part of that. That only ran for the first three story arcs and actually read more like one big story arc. Infestation is better described as being the Crisis On Infinite Earths of the IDWverse.

Well, it's kinda daft of them to use the same conjugation for a totally unrelated story. But hey, there's only like twenty words in the English language, right?

I enjoy Dom's reviews, since they often consist of a pithy ad hominem against the creative team and a single letter grade. He's like a cartoon teacher. =p

Well I give them a pass on this one because of two reasons, 1) the Infestation cross over happened like 3 years after the -ation books and B: Infestation is about a zombie virus spreading to multiple universes. What the hell else were they gonna call that? Contagion? Outbreakination? I'm just sayin'.

Both books also are running through damn near every licensed property IDW has, so.

Infestation 2 doesn't have anything to do with the first one. Cthulu-related Eldritch abominations show up in the Hearts of Steel spinoff universe. Stuff happens.

Pretty sure there's a better title for it floating out there somewhere. A good place to start'd be.. oh, I dunno.. more than one word? But hey, that's my own personal prejudice. Armada's episode titles nearly killed me.

The original Infestation was used as a tool to promote IDW's in-house property Robots Vs. Zombies.

Sometimes they're not the most creative bunch, is all I'm saying.
