Human Alliance Sideswipe + combined Prime and Jetfire pics
Yay, news!
Allianceswipe, and Combined Prime and Jetfire.
AllianceSwipe looks nifty, a little chunky, but definitely nifty. The wheelfeet are done right here, and I dig the retro shouldergun. Definitely a good design to get the treatment, hey.
Combined Prime and Jetfire are unfortunately less cool, though Jetfire looks extra-neat there. So glad that walking stick's removable.

I seem to be the only person on the Internet who thinks Movie Jet Convoy looks decently cool.
It's better than Armada's crap combinations.

You shut your mouth, Space Pants rock!
My main problem with the combination is that Jetfire's really just becoming a big backpack for Prime. It's horrifically boring, especially considering that they went to all the trouble to make a new mold for Prime. And the Jetfire-pack doesn't even really look like anything. He collapses into a pile of kibble and mounts on Prime's back. Blah.

I'm not getting the feeling that Prime was specifically redesigned just so he could work with Jetfire. It's obvious that he got a new toy because the last one was 'vastly inferior.'

Re: Human Alliance Sideswipe + combined Prime and Jetfire pics
I dunno about vastly, it has a better alt. mode. Just..different and clearly based on an earlier design. We'll be saying the same about this Prime come the next movie.
I suspect the iffy posing has a lot to answer for here, and the lighting. Prime's blue doesn't look great there. There're scans of the instructions for combining them, which unfortunately indicates that they have 'no leg articulation', baaah. Still, Prime's feet should look less suck, and so should the backpack. I doubt I'll display them combined, but we'll see.

So wait...Jetfire hobbles around on a cane?
Well, I kinda like that.
I don't know about the toy, though. Mmmaybe.

Yeah, you missed that tidbit. It's because he's bloody well ancient. So, er, he's Jet Kup.138 Scourge wrote:So wait...Jetfire hobbles around on a cane?

Flying, no problem. Walking, he's gotta gimp around.Onslaught Six wrote:Yeah, you missed that tidbit. It's because he's bloody well ancient. So, er, he's Jet Kup.138 Scourge wrote:So wait...Jetfire hobbles around on a cane?

Yeah. That is kinda cool. Okay, Jetfire I kinda like. Besides, it's about time an "old guy" character actually had something other than a bio that implied they were old.
Jetfire wants all you kids off his lawn so bad...

Yeah, Sideswipe looks a little chunky but cool. And agreed on wheelfeet.
I saw an Optimus Prime figure keychain at TRU the other day that made no sense, seemed to be most of Jetfire's exterior around Prime. Now I know what it was getting at, it didn't look as combined as this, it was more Jetfire, but that image triggered the realization of what it was. A buddy of mine just pointed out on the phone that Jetfire in the movie must be significantly bigger than Prime due to different scale between the SR-71 and a truck.
Combined Jetfire seems to be vaguely hugging Prime. Not much of him left in that interpretation.
Wow, I hadn't noticed Jetfire's whole cockpit area is kibble under his arm. More I see of this thing, the worse it looks, which sucks because both modes have some good points.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Re: Human Alliance Sideswipe + combined Prime and Jetfire pics
Not so sold on the combination here. I like the idea, but it isn't a great rendition of the animation model whatsoever. Thought we were kinda past that sort of thing. Hopefully we get a Mega Jetfire that can attach to Mega Prime, that'd be a nifty retroactive way of working it out. I'm impressed Jetfire doesn't legoform that much, but at the same time, that's what wrecks it. A smaller one, preferably without a legoformy regular transformation, could do a better job.
