the broken street date thread

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

I have seen quite a few Ransacks and Depthcharges as well. My money is on DC shelf-warming. The problem is that right now, some people are not even looking for RotF toys.

I'm planning on picking up the red/white/blue repaint of Knockout, named Reverb, because for one thing, those are totally Cy-Kill's colours, and for another, his vehicle mode has 97 on it, which becomes 26 on his robot mode chest! That's brilliant!

I dunno, Depthcharge looks kinda cool. Before I found Ransack today, I made him my back-up purchase. As in, "If I don't find the crusty ol' biplane guy...".

Of course, he's a boat, and amazingly, an Autoboat. So I gotta be in.

Well my local Target had SCORES of ROTF toys out tonight. Mainline, Deluxes, Basics, Voyagers, Leaders, gravity bots, power bots, roleplay, the whole shebang. There seems to be something weird going on with the waves though. There wasn't a trace of Voyager Starscream, Sideswipe, Sideways, or the Preview Wave, with the exception of single Bumblebee in a rather mangled box. So either the scalpers are being oddly selective here, or my Target started with the second wave. Except they've got a bunch of Voyager Primes, who co-sells with Starscream. Maybe he ships as part of wave 2 too. Bleh, and Starscream was the one I REALLY wanted. Anyway, I didn't get anything (Somehow I was not aware of how much of this line was repaints) but I'll probably be going back tomorrow to grab Breakaway, Depth Charge, Rollbar, and maybe Knock Out, Dead End, Wheelie, Chromia, and Leader Prime. Gonna check the other stores for Sideswipe and Starscream too.

So. Sideways. Worth it?

I'm probably gonna wait on Swerve.

My guess is that the first 2 waves were being released at the same time, as happened in '07. Target in Everett had wave 1 andrews 2 Deluxes, (Chromia, but no Smokescreen), and the preview wave, but no wave 1 Voyagers. Somerville just had Wave 1 and the previews, but the wave 1 Voyagers.

Neither has scouts, nor even hook-space.

I got this version instead of the original, and always liked it better anyway. So, yeah, I'll be getting Knockout and likely skipping Reverb...

I'd really recommend avoiding Knockout, he's a mess. Bike mode won't peg together, robot mode is flimsy and boring. Reverb will be okay if he fixes the joint tolerances. As-is, not worth it. Alas. Good thing Ransack is gold plated awesome.

God Damn, you guys have no idea how sad I am to hear that Knock Out sucks. Damn damn damn. His look *really* appealed to me. Screw it, I might have to defy you all and pounce anyway. But...only after I've gotten everything else I want.

Anyway, checked out The Other Target, and they had Rampage and Soundwave, but none to the Wave 2 guys that the Target I mentioned before did. So still no Starscream or Sideswipe, dammit! I snapped up Rampage, Soundwave, and Depth Charge anyway though. I'll mention them in the hauls thread later, for posterity if nothing else. Oh, they also had FAB Long Haul, who looks pretty nifty. I'd probably get him if FABs weren't a buck more than regular Deluxes. The hell?! We are getting a Voyager Long Haul anyway, right?
