For $40, I could have gotten a much better G1 Prime reissue several years ago. I say much better because the blue on this one kinda sucks.

Yeah, I really don't understand why they don't use rubber stacks. Always amused me that they'd make some things longer (missiles) and other things shorter (smokestacks). I guess they can't chrome the rubber, but considering this is meant to be Anime Colours Prime anyway, it shouldn't matter if he lacks chrome.

US law dictates the 3" minimum length for spring-loaded projectiles to ensure they don't get accidentally swallowed down the windpipe of a child. The stacks are because Hasbro's afwaid a kid will snap them off and eat them since their original length and design makes them prone to breakage. Just go back to the drawing board ya wussies!

I will give them a pass on the legal issues for the smokestacks as-is, but I agree they should change them.

Ye gods, I did not realise it was that expensive. Like Prowl said, there are cheaper and better options. This appeals squarely to the naive newly nostalgia-driven fan who is not familiar with those options. And for that kind of money, I'd expect it to include a hell of a lot more than a DVD, a comic, and a crappy voicebox.

Exactly, it's all about a cash grab off the suckers who remember the brand fondly but aren't part of it.

Too many small parts, probably. I do love that thing, especially the e-Hobby black repaint with the G2 Prime heads and the kickass chainguns.

No, it's something like 2.7", but you almost never see any under 3 so I just always round up.

Having now seen the local version, it does indeed lack the DVD, but is comparatively less expensive. This is good, because it looks pretty average. No sale here, but they do seem to be moving.

Most of my local Wal-Marts that still have any of these in stock are still selling them for $70.
