2026 Hauls!

Post by Sparky Prime »

Starting off the year with an old figure.

I got Generations Waspinator. I have a display for season 3 of Beast Wars that I was using the 10th Anniversary version of Waspinator for, but having updated several of those figures in recent years, I decided the 1996 mold wasn't cutting it anymore. Like the Generations Rattrap I got several months ago, I only recall seeing this version of Waspinator on shelves once or twice and I didn't get when I saw it for whatever reason. I was disappointed I'd ended up missing out on it. So, I finally got one second hand.

Arrived today: Green Lantern by Robert Venditti omnibus volume 2. Looks like it covers everything from "Godhead" through the end of the "Renegade" storyline. Has all the Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps issues, and includes a couple of New Guardians, Red Lanterns and Sinestro issues.

Master Replicas Stargate Universe - Destiny model

I'd gotten a number of Star Trek models from Eaglemoss prior to them going bankrupt. Despite some quality control issues, particularly the window paint not being aligned with the indentations, I think they are some top notch models. I'd been looking forward to them branching into the Stargate franchise, and I was thrilled when Master Replicas announced they were going to continue it, especially the Destiny. Destiny is my favorite ship of the Stargate franchise. Sadly, Stargate Universe was cancelled after only two seasons leaving the story unresolved. I get it was a pretty big departure from SG-1 and Atlantis in tone, which turned off a lot of fans, but I still really enjoyed it. I'm hoping the recently announced new series may address what became of Destiny and crew... but I digress.

Destiny was supposed to ship out in November, but for whatever reason, it was delayed and only just shipped out last week. Better late than never. This is an excellent model of the ship. Destiny has a lot of greeblies detail on the hull, and they did an excellent job of it. They even included one of the shuttles docked ahead of the observation deck. Like the Star Trek models, there is a little bit of die-cast metal, which seems to only be at the aft of the ship, with the 'pyramid' living quarters section on the top, and the fins on the bottom. Kinda wish the front of the ship had some with how thin the front of the ship is, but I get why they made it the way they did. I'm very pleased with the scale. It's almost as long as an XL Star Trek model, but Destiny is a very thin ship for the most part. Overall, I love the work they did for this model of Destiny. Well worth the wait.
