Okay, ignore the Kaplan one, he's kind of random. The Art and Story guys seem to be in a transformers mood, this time they interviewed Marty Isenberg, the story editor for Transformers Animated. All they talk about is TFA and you hear some neat behind the scenes stuff about how the characters and arcs are formed. Here's the permanent link, this is definitely worth a listen for Animated fans:

Re: Submit news
Check this out! A knockoff Bluestreak in Diaclone blue colors. I'd rather have an official reissue, but I may pick this one up.

Thanks for submitting the news, and big thanks to Sparky for posting it!
Hmm, what do you guys think, should we cover this knockoff? We've never done KO news before.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Re: Submit news
That's a good point. Normally I'd say stick with official product rather than promoting what are in essence pirated designs, but then a blue Bluestreak KO is something out of the ordinary. Maybe a disclaimer could be added about this not being official and that Hasbro has not approved the product, or something along those lines.JediTricks wrote:Thanks for submitting the news, and big thanks to Sparky for posting it!

In actual figure news, a Silverbolt repaint is on the way (surprise!)

Re: Submit news
Why not? If it is of interest to somebody here, like Anderson, it is likely of interest to others in the fandom. I say we cover this sort of thing as we hear it. (I personally know two guys who buy knock-offs, and one of them makes a point to do so.JediTricks wrote:Thanks for submitting the news, and big thanks to Sparky for posting it!

This is assumed to be Universe Coundown, the Micromaster. I have the original. And further pictures of someone I assume is Darkwing or Dreadwind, the repaint of Silverbolt. I don't think the head fits him, but it otherwise looks decent.

Re: Submit news
Knockoffs detract from the brand in some ways though, it's an attack on the legal copyrights and it's an attack on the perception of quality. I understand some folks are in it for the characters and since Hasbro ain't supplying, they have to get it elsewhere, but it seems indecent.
Anderson, you want to start reporting for TFV directly? My heart is not in reporting repaints and legends, those 2 elements bring me down, but I know it's of interest to a lot of folks.

I can do that if you like. All I'm doing is gleaning news from other sites, but I don't mind posting it if you like. Just trying to participate.JediTricks wrote:Anderson, you want to start reporting for TFV directly? That's alright, if it's interesting news, it should be shared, I don't mind linking to others. I'll send you a PM about it.andersonh1 wrote:I can do that if you like.
