All The Love In The World - NIN

Always quite liked this song, oddly-paced and mellow though it is.

"Body Count's In The House" by Body Count.

Y'know, you don't hear much about Body Count these days, but damn...they were really funny and awesome. This song's one of my favorites because for the most part the lyrics are just "Body Count" "Body Count's In The House", introducing the band members, and assorted swear words. So, it pretty much rocks.

It also amuses me to no end that Ice-T's best known these days for playing a cop on TV.

Bring On The Young, by Strapping Young Lad. I love me some SYL.

Heh, it just finished, and on comes the bonus live version of Detox. Before starting, Devin goes "We made a video for this song, it's called Detox. Beat the shit out of each other." Devin Townsend is my hero.

That reminds me of a concert I went to. Ensiferum came up, said basically: "Fuck the signs that say no moshing. We want you guys to walk away covered in blood and sweat and tears."

That is rad. Of course, you wanna go away covered in blood, sweat and...alien reproductive fluids, go to a GWAR show.

Right now I'm digging "Bricks and Mortar" by Burton Earny and His Horse Orchestra. Found this guy's comics on DeviantArt, and wound up discovering the music he makes all on his lonesome. It's all awesome, and this bastard's entirely too talented.

It was indeed. The Sonata Artica shirt I wore there was never the same.

I'm listening to Ronald Jenkees right now, he's pretty awesome. Look him up on YouTube.

Post-Modern Sleaze, by the Sneaker Pimps. Love the vocals on this one. Only ended up getting into the Sneaker Pimps and the Crystal Method thanks to their collaborations on the Spawn soundtrack, guess that's one project that worked well.

I went to a GWAR show in November and I was not disappointed. In fact, I'm listening to a GWAR song now. Saddam A-Go-Go, while dated, is surprisingly catchy.

Finally found a version of Ministry doing Supernaut. Not sure if it's explicitly Ministry or if it's the 1000 Homo DJs.

See, story is, 1000 Homo DJs (which is/was basically Ministry Guy's side project, I guess) was covering Supernaut from Sabbath, and Trent Reznor comes in and does really kickass angry distorted vocals. TVT Records, Reznor's shitty record company, didn't want it released, so I guess Jourgensen recorded new vocals for it. I've only ever heard the one with Reznor's vocals until now.

So, I don't really listen to a lot of new music, but I did have the opportunity to rip a couple discs of The Pogues and I'm enjoying the hell out of them. Mostly though? I listen to podcasts a lot. Mostly independent/web comic stuff, but I'd like to hear what podcasts the rest of you guys listen to. Here's my list:

Webcomics Weekly: Scott Kurtz, Kristofer Straub, Dave Kellett and Brad Guigar
Art and Story: Mark Rudolph and Jerzy Drozd (these guys refer to Beast Wars as examples of good story telling every other episode)
Writing Excuses: Brandon Sanderson, Howard Tayler, Dan Wells
