Original Rhinox, Transmetal Rhinox, FoxKids! Rhinox, Armada Rhinox, BWX Rhinox, Telemocha Rhinox (there is one, right?). Yeah, Rhinox has had plenty of toys, and I coulda thrown in a coupla Tankorrs if I'd wanted to.

What I'd enjoy is an updated version of the original Rhinox along the same vein as the updated Cheetor. I've got the 10th anniversary BW version, but I've never been all that impressed with the toy, despite the fact that the character is one of my favorites from BW. It's very much a shellformer, which would be ok except that the shell bits get in the way rather than folding out of the way neatly, and the rhinoceros itself is pretty unconvincing.

And of course, Rhinox needs his chainguns o' doom.

I'd love to see an updated Rhinox, and Rattrap perhaps too. There's alot of BW characters they could redo.

I would like to see the beast era get more attention. But, with the upcoming movie-sequel, they are going to cancel "Universe", and any chance of getting good toys of characters like Rhinox.

I don't think it's cancelled per se, unless things have changed. I think it's going on hiatus.

As long as it's not an Alternator's-style hiatus, we're ok.

Yeah, I forget which Q&A I read it in, but they did say that they were taking a break from Universe, and only doing a small amount of Animated product when the new movie comes out.

I only have a few figs from the first movie so far and only characters that actually appeared onscreen, but to be honest, I'd rather see them put out more G1 updates in the Universe line than a ton of movie charaters and repaints that aren't even in the film.

Well, this movie is gonna have a lot more characters in it. The running rumour is ten guys/side, and that may not even include the Constructicons.

Remember that a lot of it's about branding, too. People want stuff associated with the movie, and they need to recoup costs of expensive moulds while keeping fresh product on the shelves. Repaints are the best way to do that, and some of the first movie's line's repaints are great. I'll not hold it against them.

Terrible case ratios and overstocking the same wave are a clear issue, though, but that's quite different. Do hope they throw some Universe-themed redecos into the second movie line too.

I won't disagree with you about branding and recouping mold costs, but I'd still like to see less repaints, and maybe the fact that there are more characters in this film will help with that.

I'm not opposed to repaints, but I do believe they tend to go a bit overboard with them at times. Premium series and Stealth Bumblebee in the same assortment comes to mind.

Man, as long as there are Transformers toys actually *on* the shelves during this movie, I'll be happy. Piles of Sunstorm and Ultra Magnus redecoes would be preferable to a repeat of The Great Toy Drought of 2007.

I don't think Hasbro was expecting the overwhelming popularity and insanity this movie was going to cause. I'd imagine they treated it like they would have treated one of their 'licensed' movie lines, which typically have toys lingering on the shelves up to a year after the fact. (Ironically, that's what happened to the movie toys 'now,' but it's an entirely different assortment.) The fact that movie was actually somewhat decent (Can we agree on that, at least?) and managed to make a big splash in the box office meant a lot of shit came of it. Even now, the Universe stuff is generally kind of hard to find, at least in the early waves.
