See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Got a couple of things at a comic book show today. "World Without a Superman" trade paperback for $3.50. I've got the issues, but at that price, it'll be nice to have them in a collected volume. And found a copy of Superman 23 by Roger Stern and Mike Mignola, which was the first issue I ever bought. I don't have that copy any more. Probably got rid of it in a long ago comic purge when I was moving or making room, so it's nice to have it again.

Played a D&D game in Times Square and on the way home I popped into the big TRU they had there and picked up the generations mini-con combiners. I haven't bought a minicon pack since armada... they feel good as individual toys but the combined mode has a few problems- a big empty space in his torso, his legs are a bit too short and the cockpit on the helicopter keeps falling off.

Another comics haul: The Golden Age Sandman archive, vol. 1. I've read exactly one solo Wesley Dodds story from the Golden Age, and a few issues of Sandman Mystery Theater a long time ago. I'm looking forward to reading more.

Mattel DC Total Heroes Batman - this is a nice figure for what it is, it's a 6" new52 Batman figure for playing with, for kids, not collectors, but it still has a good amount of articulation, and unlike most Mattel figures lately, it has reasonable accessories - 2 batarangs and a bat-pistol (the pistol would shoot bat-line in comics or tv, here they didn't go with a stupid gimmick so it's just a bat-gun) - and the accessories plug into pegs on the back of the belt. The figure has a nice sculpt, especially the head, with a c-cup left hand and fist right hand; and the new52 armor panel lines don't overwhelm. Paint is decent, simple but effective - thank goodness for the belt, even though it's too big, without it the outfit really wouldn't look nice. Articulation is good - ball-hinged shoulders and elbows and hips, hinge and ball neck, swivel waist and wrists, hinged knees and ankles - and only really needed a more dynamic torso joint, a ball-hinge knee so the lower leg could rotate, and double-hinged elbows to really be a home run. The cape is decent but narrow, I prefer wide Batman capes. Price is ok to high but apparently going higher very soon, $15 at TRU, so if you get this figure at $12 soon it's good but higher is I dunno.
