The ad code varies. A lot is in tags, others are just pure URL's with inline image links. As I said, a mess. :)

I'm actually using Drupal, which was heartily recommended by several friends.

I don't want to depend on relying on Action Online for anything. Let's just say the fact I did not renew with them should speak volumes. ;) The worst case scenario is that I recreate images. It's hardly the worst thing in the world.

Hey, Ben, just to make sure...did I ever tell you you're my hero?

Your site was the first one I ran into looking for TF stuff online, and between the awesome resourciness and the cool forums, it's pretty much the only one I felt a need for for quite some time.

Hope things go well for you in rebuilding the site, and in life in general.

Yeah, DNS numbers instead of names, that is frustrating.

Cool, cool. I just wanted to make sure you didn't use Joomla, which comes with these Dreamhost accounts.

I see what you mean, though I'd definitely want my content back (I'm still a little miffed that the forums system we were developing with them for SSG back in 2000 got scrapped and all those forums posts our readers and I made got chucked after a few months). I'm so slow with setting up and shooting that it'd drive me bonkers to reshoot everything, but it's a good exercise in re-experiencing old figure-friends.

Anyway, thanks again for checking in with us, keep us up to date on your progress. :)

I see there was another update on BWTF this week...
October 13, 2008
So where the heck is the site?! I'm sure that's a question many of you are asking, and sadly I do not have a good answer. The relaunch of BWTF, which I had hoped would happen by the end of this month may now be delayed until the end of November. There are many reasons for this, but the biggest being an illness in the family and financial issues. I don't have a new timeline just yet, but I really hope for end of November, if not I will post again here. My apologies to all those who have been waiting.
Sucks to hear about the hardships Ben but it's good to hear you're hanging in there.

Yeah, I saw that, meant to post it here but been super busy, it slipped my mind. Hopefully everything gets back on track for him real soon.

Hi folks,

Thanks for being so patient. Everyone here has been really cool so I thought I'd offer a bit more detail.

One of my family members has had cancer for a few years now. He has survived and fought it much longer than any of us ever expected, but he does have to have treatments done about every other year or so. His latest round of treatments caused him to have to stay in the hospital longer than previous stays. Because of a language barrier, it was necessary to have someone there at all times to translate for him, so family members all had to take a shift. I of course contributed to this effort, but it took away a lot of time and energy from other pursuits.

On the other side, the medical issues I mentioned a while back are all settled in terms of my health (for now), but in terms of the bills that they left in their wake? Not so much, and priority has to go to paying those off. I have located a server company that will give me a low end dedicated server for abou $70/month, which is reasonable - but since my initial launch will be without any outside funding (ad support etc.) this has been extremely difficult to work into my budget.

Add to all these troubles - my car just died, and living in New Jersey, a car is not a luxury, it's pretty much a necesity for everything from food shopping to going to the park for a jog. So now I'm investigating getting a new vehicle.

I really do want to relaunch BWTF when the opportunity presents itself, but I thought this post would help add color to what's been going on behind the scenes. Thank you all for your support thus far. :)

Best of luck Ben. We all have our share of bedlam in life.

Your cats are healthy I assume?

Priorities are priorities, man! When there's major bills to pay and a car that needs fixing, methinks the site can hold its Mach Kicks and Battle Unicorns and so forth.

(Worst pun ever).

Dang, that's a lot of bummer stuff, good to see you're hanging in there.

$70 a month ain't too bad for dedicated, but yeah, without a revenue stream that's like buying 3 Voyagers a month and giving them away.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, best of luck!
