Re: October Hauls
And even if we do, I'm not sure how much I'd like a Ratchet with the huge cracks all over his vehicle mode like Ahrnhide's got. It works for him because he's supposed to look old and beat-up.

Re: October Hauls
But...said cracks aren't intentional. The segmented windows on his vehicle mode look like crap on Ironhide 'also.'

Re: October Hauls
True, but if I didn't think of 'em as making the truck look old and beat-up, then they'd just be a really badly-done vehicle mode. And I want very badly to like Ironhide.Onslaught Six wrote:But...said cracks aren't intentional. '

Re: October Hauls
Universe 2.0 Onslaught, bought off a friend. Though he forgot to bring the shield. Pretty nice, but the spring on his arm cannon isn't that tight, and it tends to flop around.
Plus the cages in his legs have some trouble locking into place. Anyone else have this problem?

Re: October Hauls
The arm gun on mine could stand to have a stronger spring, but it's not floppy per se. I only have issues with the legs when transforming back to vehicle mode.
Last night I went to a very METULLL gig, the album release for a local metal band called Tainted, along with Australian band Parkway Drive and a few others. Nabbed a copy of Tainted's album, and got it signed 'cause I knows people, hur hur. I also lost my watch in the mosh pit, so shall need me another one of those.

Re: October Hauls
Took advantage of the sale at Target and picked up Animated Sentinel and premium format Movie Bumblebee. They had a couple Stormclouds on the shelves as well but I didn't have enough cash with me, so I'll probably pick one up tomorrow.

Re: October Hauls
Weaboo haul first:
Venus Versus Virus vol. 5
HitoHira vol. 1 (I *think* it's yuri...)
Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-Chan DVD set
But anyway, I went over to the Other Target, thinking that I might find Classics Wave 3. I didn't, but it hardly mattered when I saw Animated Ultra Magnus sitting on the shelf. And hey, thanks to the convenience of the "Try Me!" feature, I was able to make sure I got the one out of three there that had fully funtioning electronics! Be sure you check when you come across these guys, I've heard multiple reports of them being dodgy. Anyway, the toy itself is awesome. I love all the pop out weapons (even if the right shoulder gun on mine won't click into position when I slide it out), and the hammer's great fun, though it's too bad he can't two-hand it. Electronics are fun too ("We must return Ultra Magnus here!"). Transformation is...involved. If you weren't familiar with Excessive Force before you got this toy, well, you will be. Those shoulder halves do not move easily; younger children might actually have some difficulty with this one. If his vehicle mode wasn't so freaking awesome, I wouldn't even bother wrestling him into it. But it looks really cool, and the pop-out weapons are even more fun in this form. So yeah, snap this guy up if you see him. I wouldn't say he's better than Leader Megs, but he's damn close to being just as good. Plus, between him, Jazz, and Sentinel, I've got the whole Elite Guard now, though I'm tempted to get Elite Guard Bumblebee and Blurr just to expand on that.

Re: October Hauls
Yay, the past little while's enormous pile of crap:
USA Edition Ultras - Onslaught, Powerglide, and Silverbolt. Also BT-22 Convoy.

Superlink Dinobot Magma Type and Chromehorn Forest Type, plus the above-mentioned album.

Universe Deluxe wave three.

Also got a spiffy new G-Shock watch to replace the one I lost in the mosh pit. G-3110, to be precise. Big chunky stainless steel jobby, always wanted a G-Shock. It has this snazzy feature with multiple colours on the LCD. The logical choice? Red numbers! Redddd numberrrss.

Re: October Hauls
That's my major problem with Ironhide. The combination of odd angled seams in the vehicle mode and the blue paint on half the windows just really look bad. There's no way around it. The toy is a great update of Ironhide, and both the bot mode and transformation are great, but all the cracks look bad. There's just no way around it.138 Scourge wrote:And even if we do, I'm not sure how much I'd like a Ratchet with the huge cracks all over his vehicle mode like Ahrnhide's got. Re: October Hauls
The cracks have pretty much convinced me not to buy Ironhide.
My haul:
=good news in that the state budget pogrom will not be hitting me or my staff.
-a student loan statemnt. (I owe more than I am every likely to make, and I dropped out!)
-a big box of fun from Digital Toys:
Mutt and Junkyard (staying on card)
Wraith (still need the variant, plus an extra for customizing)
Croc-Master (a bit of a let-down, but not a wholly bad toy)
TFU Sideswipe (2, for customizing)
"Classics" Mirage
Japaneese Classics/Henkei (Henkei Pankei?) Starscream, Ramjet, Skywarp and.......Thundercracker!
Oh, and some custom "Energy" (Enegon) Cubes.
Dom
-gonna be a long haul for reviews.
