I am pretty sure they were switched from Jetfire's colours. Also, I know nothing about this stupid show that hasn't produced anything relevant in decades, so.Rick hunter's first robotech was colored in Jetfire's colors, which was white with black & red stripes with a different robot head.

Re: Harmony-Gold is suing Hasbro over SDCC Exclusives.
Rick Hunter's VF-1J was red before, his VF-1S was yellow like Roy Fokker's after he died, but Rick's VF-1J was red. It's certainly not enough changes to warrant any claim that it's original, it uses a color-shifted identical color/black panel like the Roy Fokker/Rick Hunter Valkyrie along with the same wing sweeps, even if the color is different.Onslaught Six wrote:Except there's red in it, where Rick Hunter's has yellow. I'll admit it's a small change, but it's different. Plus, all that red armour that wasn't part of the original design.
Anyway, what will likely end up happening is Hasbro will offer to settle out of court, basically giving Harmony Gold a sack of "shut the fuck up" money (less than or equal to the overall profit they got from the SDCC sets) and nothing will ever be heard about it again. How many of these "lawsuit" type situations popped up over the last few years, where someone claims to be suing Hasbro, and then we never hear about it again?
Here's the very Rick Hunter VF-1S Super Valkyrie toy that Jetfire was taken from: http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/reminator2 ... etfire.jpg
that page notes the differences that Hasbro employed in the mold, blunting the nose and limiting the cockpit canopy: http://www.angelfire.com/ny5/reminator2 ... ervf1s.htm
The Jetfire nose is painted where on Roy and Rick's it's not, but there is another character who had a painted nose in one of 'em. It's also not remotely enough to claim originality.
The FASTpack armor is part of the VF-1S Super Valkyrie design that Rick Hunter takes on after Roy dies in battle, there are no visual changes to any of it when it got used on Jetfire except color on Rick's, but other FASTpacks were available in red and in black as well as gray.
If Hasbro settles, it won't be a cash-only settlement, HG will want more than just a lump sum. HG doesn't back down though, this is their bread and butter, they were formed to bring Macross to the US as Robotech.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I'd love to see a live action Robotech movie with the same exact 1980's story that's in this wiki link below. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotech
The First Robotech War (The Macross Saga) concerns humanity's discovery of a crashed alien ship and subsequent battle against a race of giant warriors called the Zentraedi, who have been sent to retrieve the ship for reasons unknown. In the course of this chapter, Earth is nearly annihilated, the Zentraedi are defeated, and humans gain knowledge of the energy source called protoculture. Humanity also learns of the Robotech Masters whose galactic empire the Zentraedi protected and patrolled.
The Second Robotech War (The Masters) focuses on the arrival in Earth orbit of the Robotech Masters, who have come seeking what turns out to be the sole means in the universe of producing protoculture. Through a combination of mistrust and arrogance, their attempts at retrieving this meet with opposition from the humans and unleash a war that leaves the Masters defeated and Earth awash in the spores of a plant called the Flower of Life—the source of protoculture and a beacon to the mysterious Invid who scour the galaxy for its presence.
The Third Robotech War (The New Generation) begins with the arrival on Earth of the Invid, who are lured by the Flower of Life and rapidly conquer the planet. References in the previous two chapters explain to viewers that many of the heroes of the First Robotech War had left Earth to seek out the Robotech Masters on a preemptive mission, and it is this Robotech Expeditionary Force that sends missions back from across the galaxy to attempt a liberation of their homeworld. The storyline follows one group of freedom fighters as they work their way towards the final battle with the Invid

Can't say I'm surprised. It really seemed like Harmony Gold was overreaching with this lawsuit.

Some sites are saying there was a settlement out of court. Either way, I called it.

If Hasbro settled, then Harmony Gold won by virtue of getting money for producting nothing.

Thread update: Hasbrotoyshop.com is selling the SDCC 2013 Jetfire G.I Joe/TF cross-over gift set on their site for $99.99.
http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/gi-joe-tra ... re-vehicle
Since it's a Exclusive HTS.com doesn't offer qualifying free shipping & none of the Prome codes work. So with shipping fees & tax added,The total comes to well over $125+
Personally,I need TF toys that transform back & forth into a robot mode. So this thing is a easy pass.
I guess Hasbro's setttlement or law suit dismissal allowed Hasbro to now sell & get rid of all the SDCC 2013 Jetfire Cross-overs gift sets.

Re: Harmony-Gold is suing Hasbro over SDCC Exclusives.
It was dismissed with prejudice because Hasbro settled, and what amazes me is the settlement worked out to Hasbro getting to sell more product, that's impressive, I would love to know what Harmony Gold is getting in return.
Kinda feel like a fool for not selling mine at the height of the craze, but I'm glad I kept it and didn't scalp.
