Recent Example: If only SDCC Metroplex was this easy to buy at the retail price on-line & I didn't have to deal with the HTS site freezing/shutting down on the HTS SDCC Site ordering day.
This is a weird/special/unique listing due to HTS not having any site exclusives since the Takara imported BW II & BW NEO imports they sold on the site over a decade ago.
Which makes this listing even more weirder is the fact it's the first HTS shared site exclusive that HTS is sharing with BBTS & Amazon.com.
Please don't mention,this isn't true due to the HTS site having all those SDCC & NYCC exclusives year after year. These are not site exclusives. These are convention exclusives that are first sold at the conventions. Hasbro offers them for sale on the HTS site a few days later as a fan service to the fans. because Hasbro feels bad for fans who can't make it to the conventions so they try to make it easier for them to get these convention exclusives days later on their HTS site.
Personally,i'm impressed with HTS site selling this Predaking gift set. Hopefully hasbro/HTS uses their site more often to sell TF toys that stores refuse to carry or they know will be a hard sell in stores. Examples are as follows: TFP Gaia voyager Unicron,TFP Voyager Breakdown,TFP Deluxe jet vehicon. Takara 2010 Primus,Takara TF reissues that TRU refuses to carry. Maybe the smaller scale car/bots MP TF toys if USA stores refuse to carry them. maybe larger scale new mold TF combiners that stores refuse to carry or hasbro knows will be hard sells at stores. canceled repaints/retools that stores refuse to carry,etc...
If I had to speculate why Hasbro finally decided to release the Takara Reissue Predaking in America. I'd safely speculate it has everything to due with the BH Predacons & BH Predaking being on TV & toys being in stores. Perhaps Hasbro feels this is the year of the Predacons/Predaking,So what better way to celebrate this theme, is by also releasing the G-1 Reissue predaking on various USA based sites.
Maybe Hasbro will surprise everyone in 2014 for the TF4 Movie/toy line by having the Five G-1 Dinobots/dinoking combiner fight the 5 G-1 Predacons/Predaking
