You and I disagree on that, sometimes the publisher (more Hasbro than IDW) can put something out that is meant not for true approval, it's just a fun thing not meant to be taken seriously, and sometimes it's just a thing they overlooked.

Didn't we already do a guy named Sideways who was also a motorcycle? Fuck it. Bio's already written." I mean, I'd really LOVE to see a comparison of Optimus Prime bios over the years, and how many we could "declare" were the exact same character due to "similarities."
Remember, this is the entire reason Walky's Wiki insists that Cybershark and Hammerstrike are the same guy. Hell, they wanted to do the same thing with Manterror and Buzzclaw, but luckily got shot down by both of them appearing in the same place in IDW's Beast Wars comics (likely the only good thing to come out of those paper abortions).
Fans on the Wiki in general just seem to have a major boner for characters being the same character. Hell, the whole Sideways thing came about because Walky himself thought it would be SO COOL if ROTF CannonFodderWays was the same as all the other Sidewayses, and went looking for any minor thing he could use as 'confirmation'. It's amazing they haven't tried to find some idiotic explantion for G1 Inferno being BW Inferno, or something stupid like that.
To be fair, the wiki makes clear that the evidence is less than perfect, they cite its flaws.
See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?
The thing is, people always cite that against wikis (in general), but it's hard for completely erroneous information to stick around there (unless the admins have a particular bias--see Cybershark/Hammerstrike). For example, if I edit Optimus Prime's page to say he's a female (because I am eight years old) then that's going to get edited back pretty damn fast.
Also, to actually edit anything on the TF Wiki, you need to be a member and also confirm your email address now.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

That's a pretty extreme example of erroneous information though, that would easily be picked up on. What about if someone edited an article with something that wasn't so easily picked up on? It's not always so simple to spot inaccurate information as you make it out to be here. And as even you pointed out, the admins of a wiki site can have their own bias that results in unsubstantiated information being present in an article. And there in lies the problem with why anyone can edit a wiki page. Just because such obviously false information might be quickly corrected doesn't mean all the information on a page is going to be accurate or un-bias towards a certain point of view. Wiki pages might be a good place to start in finding information, but simply are not reliable enough to cite information from.
Anyway, Hasbro has announced the finalists for the 2013 Hall of Fame.

One thing about the TF Wiki I do know is that the admins that clean up that information have "bots" that alert them to any changes that are made so that if they are erroneous they get changed back right away.

That doesn't stop the admins from making their own erroneous claims. Like O6 pointed out with Cybershark/Hammerstrike. Or claiming ROTF Sideways is RID Sideways because of an in-joke in the Allspark Almanac. And again, not everything is so obvious.
I'd rather see the TF HOF winner getting a newer MP or classics/generations bigger sized toy made------> Since this doesn't happen,I view this HOF as useless/Pointless/waste of time.
Yes, let's keep arguing about Wikis even though clearly Sparky's mind isn't changing on this, and there's now news.
Hasbro has the '13 HOF finalists up, and they put them in alphabetical order:
Arcee
BW Megs
Prowl
Rodimus/Hot Rod
Ultra Magnus
Pretty much the safest list of all time. Of our list, they only included Ultra Magnus (he was our top pick, in fact), the rest of those guys didn't come close to our top 5 list this year but in '12 Prowl was in our top 5 and Arcee was a close 6th place. Magnus and Prowl have been getting a lot of play in their respective comics lately, and since it's a top 2 winners vote, I could see them both taking it for that reason.
So uh, it's a week to go, how do we vote on this?
