New vehicles for TF4

The guy doesn't own the design, he just customized a car. I don't see the big fuss. They saw something they liked and they used it. It's not like they stole the literal car.

The Veryon is fine, more of the same from that family, color is not impressive though, and it's so low and wide that I suspect Hasbro won't be able to realize it well even if they get the license.

See, that's all perfectly fair. I was just pointing out that it's a little silly to complain that a different-continuity TF might not have anything in common with a G1 guy it shares a name with, since TF as a brand has been doing that since way before Bay.

I understand, but it's... well, it's complicated. These movies are calling on G1 ideas and visual iconography even as they eschew that stuff. Soundwave has minions he ejects, for example, despite no cassette player mode.

This, on the other hand, is just getting more ridiculous by the second. Thoughtless is definitely the word I'd use, just yoinking the whole thing without even contacting the dude. Especially since he's a TF fan and all, how hard would it have been to call him up and say "Hey, we really like your car design, would it be okay if we stuck it in our movie?". At least that way, if he did say 'no', they would know that they would need to change some things about the design to make it work, instead of, what, hoping that this *one guy* might not notice that their highly publicized, multi-million-dollar movie had his car plastered everywhere as a main character? Did they really expect to sneak that one through? It just makes everyone involved with the production look like idiots.

Yeah, totally agree. I get that it's easy for big producers to not see people on the internet as anything at all, just see the internet as a sea of things without connections, but taking from it is taking from real people. At the very least, I think they should give the guy a production designer credit and some residuals.

Even as cool as Crosswise was, that figure's alt mode was taller than the actual Veryon vehicle design. I doubt Hasbro will get closer to the real one than that, unless they bring back Human Alliance maybe.

Another new vehicle has been revealed via Michael Bay's official website. The Lamborghini Aventador.

Well, we got an Audi in the ROTF line and the Japanese got a Lamborghini in their MP line, that bodes well for getting the Aventador in our next toy line (Audi and Lambo are both owned by VW so they'd be more likely to share licensing). Hopefully it won't be a character that's an homage to Uncle Tom's Cabin or Shylock or Terry the super queeny rollerskating gay prostitute from Reno 911 or something equally horrible and over the top.

Micheal bay,the writers & the creative hasbro team/crew ripping off/copying other peoples ideas & putting them into these live action TF movies is a bit of a turn off for me. as all this comes of as un-creative,basically it smells of "we can't come up with any of our own ideas,so we'll cheat,save time & borrow them from others without their premission consent. A few examples of what i'm referring to:
1- The ROTF Pretender woman was a clear blatant ripp off of the T3 female pretender. 2- Barricade was a clear blatant ripp off of the T2 cop pretender. 3-Wheelie seemed like a loose ripp off of that short circut robot. 4- those micro insects seemed like a ripp off of the tiny robots from that "batteries not included" movie. 5- Bumblebee's whole guardian persona & interaction with seemed like a grown up high school version ripp off from that "iron giant movie robot.

I disagree, and that seems like that is all that needs to be said on this issue.

That new Lamborgini pic that's making the rounds on various TF web sites----->I'm going to speculate that this is Sunstreaker's & Deadend's alt mode. Sunstreaker will be in TF4's movie & also get the lamborgini toy. While Deadend isn't in the TF4 movie but gets a repainted+retooled sunstreaker TF4 toy.

But chevy still owns the Camaro design, not the guy. Just like I can't own the custom work done on my Beetle. Because it's a functional design modification and not just cosmetic, he could claim that his alterations are the copyrighted designs being used without permission. Paramount only licensed the Mustang from Saleen in the '07 TF movie, it was only after Saleen went belly-up did they start licensing it from Ford and Saleen. Since this guy has paper artwork proving THESE specific mods are his which clearly predate production on TF4, he could with enough resources fight it, but it's not set in stone either way, so it'd be a risk, and it'd be expensive to fight. If this were patent law he'd have a solid case, patents are built on top of other patents all the time these days.

So he actually invented new devices to go on his Camaro? That he actually owns the patent for? Also, again I'm wondering if he's actually even pissed off about this. Nothing anywhere has ever said what his position is. Hell, for all we know, he could be flattered and think it's the coolest thing since sliced bread. I just find it funny that the fans are so up in arms over this when we haven't actually heard from the guy himself.
