Your demands for ROTF

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

No, he made her into a fucking transvestite. Or transgendered. Or whatever. The point is, she used to be a guy now. And that's just stupid and wrong.

And it's all because fuRrmUn dUzNnt lEiK gRrL rObItZ!!11
Well, to be fair, I don't like girl robots either, or gender in a series with robots at all, for that matter. The idea is more that Transformers didn't have gender at ALL before, and Jhiaxus introduced it into the species by making Arcee 'different'. Which accomplishes two big pluses for me: adds a 'female' character into the series that doesn't destroy the ideology I hold about it, and gives Arcee some actually interesting points of characterization while still managing to keep the one thing that barely defined her before (her gender). Not bad, though I don't really care for 'Transvestite' and 'Psycho PMS' undertones it lends itself to. Still a very sound concept in my eyes though.

I will never forgive Furman for what he did in her Spotlight issue.
When did you read Spotlight: Arcee? :P

Furman's done far more damning things than that, c'mon. Me Grimlock Badass? Worlds Collide? 'The Gathering'? Dude.

Oh, I know, those are all horrible too. And I didn't have to read it, I have summaries and the Wiki. :D

The Arcee "Spotlight" issue was one of the few good things Furman wrote these last 5 years.

I agree with Prowl, but will take it a step further. I would love to see every female TF get the "Sue Dibney" sprecial. All of 'em. I can tolerate the freaks, like Arcee or "Animated" Blackarachnia, as they show just how utterly retarded the overtly female characters are.

I reread "War Within" over the last few days, while recovering from a nasty cold. It is actually pretty damned good. I think that the clumsiness of the "bad ass" line was more Figueroa blowing the art than Furman blowing the dialogue. (I read it as Grimlock giving a snitty answer to a snitty question.) Furman actually had idea with that story, and had themes beyond "big robots are kewl".

"Worlds Collide" was readable as an end chapter to "Armada". Was it great? No. But, it was readable in that retro-70s Marvel, or late pre-Crisis DC, kind of way.

"Gathering" sucked.

Really my only complaint with "Gathering" is that Razorbeast said they were Chronally Displaced to avoid disruptions in the time line. Obviously this was done to prevent any changes to the show, but from their relative perspective from their point in time the Beast Wars weren't over yet so this makes no sense for them to be displaced to prevent changes to events that haven't happened yet. Furman could have just as easily said they were Chronally Displaced just for stealth. But otherwise, I felt "Gathering" had a ton of potential. "Ascending" on the other hand, I thought Furman shouldn't have done the Shokaract/Unicron thing... again.

Or just not made them chronologically displaced at all and done something *new* with BW.

But we've beaten this horsecorpse too much already.

Then you'd have fans complaining about the comic screwing up the show's continuity. Unless the comic took place after the Maximals left in the shuttle...

No, you'd have fans that go, "Oh, okay, so this is in a different universe that's split off from the original one."

Anyone that bitches about 'that' is just a whiny fanboy/girl.

I still run with my idea that Magmatron should've specifically Gone Back In Time and then it would've been Oh No Magmatron Has Specifically Gone Back In Time To Mess Things Up.

Oh yeah, 'cuz they've otherwise done such a great job of keeping TF continuity sensible through all these years.

As I've said, why did it even *have* to feature cameos by the show cast? The story they acted out could've taken place...anywhere.

A few perhaps... Others would just see it as screwing up the cartoon.

The problem with messing things up in the past is that it's impossible to predict how things will unfold as a result. Megatron even hesitated to take those steps. "The ultimate risk, for the ultimate prize" as Megatron said in his speech before shooting Optimus Prime. A more sensible approach is to conquer his own present day Cybertron.

True enough, but the BW cartoon was consistent within itself. I think it would have been a shame to tarnish that with a comic that changes those events.
