TF The Ride coming to Florida Universal Studios
Just posted this in the news: http://www.tfviews.com/news/entertainment/1628
Pretty fun, I haven't been to the one here in LA yet but my buddies have been digging it. Honestly, it sounds like with this in place, Universal Florida has added yet another amazing movie-based entry to their park, the one here has just 5 attractions - which is the same number they had when I was excited to sit in the Knight Rider car there 30 years ago (not to be confused with me being excited to sit in KITT now, which if they had him I totally would be).

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Re: TF The Ride coming to Florida Universal Studios
I need to get off my ass and check out the one in LA, it's not *that* far of a drive for me. And the opportunity to ride around in a giant robot John DiMaggio would totally be worth it.
Whatever happened with the Deluxe Evac toy, anyway? Was that part of the cancelled 'Movie Trilogy' line refresh? Did the toy actually see release anywhere? It was a neat design.
*Checks eBay* Okay, it's apparently a 'Universal Studios' exclusive in completely unique packaging. Looks kinda neat, the one on eBay is like $40 plus shipping, not sure if it looks *that* neat...
EDIT: And apparently Evac isn't actually voiced by John DiMaggio. The hell did I get that from?

Re: TF The Ride coming to Florida Universal Studios
When I was in California over the summer, even though I lived like 15 minutes from Disneyland I visited relatives in LA and we went to universal. My little cousin, around 13, waited 2 hours to ride the TF ride. And then we waited another 2 hours to ride it again. And we swung by it near the end of park closing to ride it again.
It really is that good.
It really is that good.

I have the deluxe Evac toy, it was turned into an exclusive to the ride store, a buddy got it for me a few weeks before official ride-opening, it's not bad overall. $40 plus shipping is bugnuts, it goes for half that, they're not limited.

Do you know if they still sell them in the store over there? This would...honestly be a factor in me taking a trip to the park.JediTricks wrote:I have the deluxe Evac toy, it was turned into an exclusive to the ride store, a buddy got it for me a few weeks before official ride-opening, it's not bad overall. $40 plus shipping is bugnuts, it goes for half that, they're not limited.
Wow, maybe I DO have a toy-buying problem...

They were all over the place when I was there over the summer in LA. But they're hella expensive. All the figs in the gift shop are. I think they were going for like $25 a pop.BWprowl wrote:Do you know if they still sell them in the store over there? Seriously though, I do need to plan a vacation soon, maybe Universal Studios would be a fun place to go.

I'm not a fan of those toy line/movie/cartoon rides at theme parks. I really hate the ones where you wait in line for hours, then travel thru a cave while the line gets shorter. then you go into a 3D movie theathre & the seat rocks back & forth with misty water spraying & fog smoke everywhere.
Re: TF The Ride coming to Florida Universal Studios
Sounds pretty cool to me, but it'd have to have some sort of narrative!!
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did
