The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone! Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

Some of the 3rd party combiners lately have looked amazing, so hopefully if they ever do make one, that's the route they would take. I'd love to see Ultra Magnus, complete with his armor. And Jazz would be a very nice choice as well, but his alt mode would present a bit of a problem with licensing...
If Takara ever did a MP Bruticus toy. at their prices, they'd be better off selling them individually. Because a MP Gift set at Takara's prices would be well over $300.
I think only Hasbro can get away with selling MP Bruticus in a Gift set. Because Hasbro Sells TF toys for 75% less than Takara does. Hasbro's MP Bruticus in a Gift set would probably sell for under $125 at TRU stores in America.
Lamborgini & Porse are owned by Volkswagen. Takara already got one liscense going with VW,So it'll be easier to get more Like Porse,Beetle. YEAH I EXPECT TO SEE TAKARA DO A MP Bumblebee toy maybe in 2014 or 2015
If Takara does a MP Ultra Magnus. their going to use the MP-10 Truck cab/robot toy. Then add a new mold car carrier trailer that can wrap around the MP-10 robot toy & form a robotic suit of Armor.
The 3rd party combiners go for anywhere from ~$300-$600 depending on which one you're getting. I think the upcoming Menasor one all together is going to be around 250.00 and the Giant/Devastators go for around $600.00. So, this would be about equal to what the 3rd parties are doing.
Holy crap! If they did a VW Bumblebee... ever... I will shit a brick! Seriously, that would thrill me to no end!
That would be awesome if they did that. I can't help wonder though if they might just do a completely new mold altogether. With no transformable cab, the whole thing just transforms into the armored mode kind of like they did with the Titaniums one. Personally, I'd prefer the former with the Prime repaint and armor pieces. I'm sick of UM getting gimped out of his armor.
Tigermegatron wrote:My guess is they do a MP Version,it'll be all new molds & based off the 1985 earth modes designs. They will probably recolor it in G-2 Bruticus colors.
That seems like a lot more than a project they refer to as a single big MP, that's essentially 4 little MPs and 1 big MP in a single project.
My speculation if their doing a MP Jazz,Then they'll most likely repaint/retool him into 1985 Stunticon Deadend.
Dead End is a different kind of Porsche, he's a 928 and a street car. Jazz however is a 935, that's a racecar based off the 911 which looks totally different from a 928.
See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Takara would probably have to do individual Releases for the 5 MP TF Combaticons over a 12 month time period. Every 2 1/2 months another MP Combaticon gets released. With 4 of the Combaticons being deluxes & Onslaught being Voyager sized. Hasbro can wait till Takara Releases all 5 MP Combaticons,Then choose to release them all in one combiner gift set at TRU in the USA for under $125

Hasbro nor Takara don't care about minor Details like that, only the hard core fans do. These are after all the same companies that do all these Soundwave/blaster repaints using the same mold,Bumblebe/cliffjumper repaints using the same mold. Even worse Cheetor/Tigatron/shadow panther/Ravage repaints using the same mold. Now 2013 data disks Ravage/Steeljaw repaints using the same mold with minor retooled parts.

Except this is the Masterpiece line we're talking about here. They put an awful lot of effort into the details of these figures to make them exactly that, Masterpieces. And it would be a pretty major detail if they were to do something like simply repaint Jazz as Dead End when the two look nothing alike.

Yeah, exactly. Plus, why pay all that money to get that license and not use it correctly? They didn't just use any old Lambo when they got that license, after all. Takara clearly cares about the fine details, they put in stuff that even the fans barely care about sometimes, like accurate windshield wipers on Prowl/Bluestreak.

Except Takara/Hasbro/TFCC didn't care when they released various Stunticons recolors using different autobots molds. Examples: Those Botcon 2011 Stunticons toys using 2008 Animated autobots/decepticons toy molds. Universe Dragstrip using the 1.0 Mirage mold. Breakdown using the 2.0 Sideswipe toy mold.
I don't think Takara/Hasbro would make exceptions for the MP TF toy line just because it's a higher priced or more elite fan centered toy line. These MP TF's cost a lot more money & time to create might as well milk the molds with as much toy characters as possible to justify the exspenses & time put into this line. Creating MP toys for Deadend & Breakdown using the MP TF Jazz & MP Sideswipe molds make sense. as the stunticons are highly desired toys in the fandom. It doesn't make sense to create newer MP TF molds for deadend & Breakdown to please the more OCD/hard core extremist fans because they are so low in number & a dying breed. Most TF fans wouldn't care.
Onslaught Six wrote:Except those were smaller, mass-release toys done in a tiny toyline. Masterpiece is held to a higher standard of quality than that.
Masterpiece TF toys are released by Hasbro/Takara in a much smaller volume units release than Classics/Generations.
Yeah, there is a huge difference between a mass produced line and the Masterpiece line. They aren't going to just repaint a Masterpiece figure, unless that's what the character was originally... Like the Seekers, or the cab part of Ultra Magnus.
